I have 4 Gb of DDR3 with an ATI 4850 and it's happening to me too. With this kind of setup, it should not be happening. As a 32-bit program, the game is capped at 2GB regardless of your machine specs.
Hmmm...then why the memory dump from Windows? Why doesn't the program shut down?

I really think the memory dump has to do with the total amount of units because of the THOUSANDS of mines being created. The same thing happens to me on Supreme Commander when the unit count gets too high. I have 4 Gb of DDR3 with an ATI 4850 and it's happening to me too. With this kind of setup, it should not be happening. Less mines = more stability.

I've had this problem and I do suspect that it's the thousands of mines laid by the AI. It slowly puts too much demands on even the best systems. The frustrating part is that it takes hours of play to get there, but there is no stopping it. The same thing happens on Supreme Commander when there are too many units.
Quoting Janeric, reply 23 I'm not playing it anymore until this gets fixed. The memory leak issue might be caused simply by the thousands of mine units and I do mean thousands. Don't forget it is beta testing, and if you caught bug, make a new dedicated thread named such as "[bug] memory leak" or so on. Don't stop play just because of a silly bug, go try other factions,

I just lost 15 fully upgraded Kodiac Cruisers trying to clear out a mine field of hundreds of them. I've played three long games so far and lost two to memory leaks and now one to this. I'm not playing it anymore until this gets fixed. The memory leak issue might be caused simply by the thousands of mine units and I do mean thousands. One really simple fix is to turn mines on and off. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

I have an e8400, Vista 64, ATI 4850, and 4 gb of DDR3 and I am getting memory leaks after 4 hours of play. It may be due to the thousands of mines the AI is producing. It also happens in Supreme Commander when you have too many units on a big map.

From what I can tell TEC don't have any mine layers in the fleet. Only planet defences, right?

I've read some posts about dumps early in the game. Mine was on an 7 AI, large fleets, large mult solar system. I still have the saved game if you guys want it. System E8400 4 gigs DDR3 ATI 4850 512 Vista 64 bit

I play TEC and so far I don't think my faction has the mine laying ability with fleet. If one faction can do this all should be able to.
