I have Windows 7 64bit and use Gimp and the DDS plugin and it has never crashed. You can also UV-Map with any modeling program, I UV-Map with 3DS Max, only thing I use Mod Tool for is the hardpoints and converting it to XSI.

If you are using Enchrenchment you need to add it to the entity.manifast file as well. Also the best way of going about making a new entity file is to copy one from the entity file directly, it works the best and I never have any problems, related to that anyway.

Reply to ship size in Sins Modding

Thanks Whiskey144, That's actually what I've been doing, after finishing up the model I check it and then use a mesh resizer to make it the size I want. I have a few ships that are a bit to big, but I don't care it's just for me.

Reply to Texturing in Sins Modding

Thanks for the replies. I found an easier way to do it though. Here are the steps, first click on the Image drop down and click flatten Image. This will get rid of the alpha channel that Gimp makes for you. Then right click on the layer and click add layer mask; a window will pop up, then click black and click add. That's it, then save it ass a dds and your good to go.

I created a new ship and textured it all up, but when I build it in game it is the player color. I did some searching and found out that it is the alpha channel. I'm not sure how to adjust it and do anything with it. I use Gimp by the way. Any help would be appreciated.

Paradoxnt, There's a bin.bat file in Requiem's GameInfo folder. Only thing you have to do is edit the bin.bat file and change "bin" to "txt". Then save and close. Before you run the bin.bat though you should remove the CAPITALSHIP_IMP_DEATHSTAR.entity because it will cause the bin.bat to stop working. It's not used in the game anyway. Then just double click on the bin.bat file and it will run. When done it will pause, just close the

I use XSI Mod Tool to edit the size of my ship (and create it). Not sure what you are saying.

hi guys I've been modeling some new ships and when I put them in the game they're really tiny. I resized them to 100 in XSI Mod tools, and it didn't even change the size of them. What should be the size? When the ship is at 100 you can't see the field that the ship is sitting in (in Mod Tools). I want to get them to the right size so I can start texturing them. Ok, I've resized it multiple times, but when I convert it to mesh it stays the same si

So I need other nulls for other things, like center? What other ones do I need besides weapons, exhaust, and abilities? What do they need to be called and where to put them? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply that the answer I was looking for. Also do you change the name of the null to what you want it as? Like Weapon-0. Because when you do this, you can only have one of each. Thanks.

I've done a bunch of searching and can't figure out where to put the nulls on the model. Do you put them where you want the effect to be? For example, put the null where the exhuast should come out. Also do you merge them with your mesh or when you save as xsi they will be where they should be. I'm just confused. Thanks. adam

Just got done playing the mod for three hours, I was the Ancients, pretty awesome. I love the Atlantis city, the model is pretty cool. The fleetsize mode is nice also, going to have to try it one other mods as well. Great job.
