To support what someone else said, a Timer-killer mode where the player who gets the most planets/destroys the most ships/gets the most ressources, or something similiar, in a specific amount of time wins would be great and would get rid of that pesky "I only have 2 hours, I can't begin a game of SoaSE" problem many players face.
