Most nations won't seriously consider this as an option any more, and with good reason. I don't think the US needs to fear nuclear missiles. However, a space

1. The Soviet Union didn't crumble because people of the world stopped supporting them. The Soviet Union imploded on itself due to a number of factors, namely corrupt governments and a very poor standard of living for the people. Much of the world did stand behind the Soviet Union's ideology, and still do today. However, due to the financial structure of the United States, huge corporate owners now basically run policy all over many parts of the world. 2. Industrialization and the intro
If we did not deserve it then the world would not bestow it upon us. Lets face the real fact here, even with our military might, if the rest of the world did not want us running the show the way we do then we would be stopped dead in our tracts. If the rest of the world (not as an organized action mind you but just as a mind set established within each socity as an individual aditude) did not want us to "rule" then they would develop other means of getting things done without us.That is mo
Rich people can't stay rich if people don't work for them or buy thier goods. Use alternate fules instead of oil.
Additionally, people don't really have a choice. It's too hard to overthrow the wealthy elite simply because people need to eat. Specifically, the poorest people in the world MUST work for their worthless wages, simply because they have no choice. They must work to feed their families, but they are absolutely exploited by extremely poor working conditions, roc
If all people arew given free health care then one of two things will happen taxes will rape the middle class or medical care will ber worhtless.
This is 100% not true. Simply look to the excellent health care in nations like Canada, Cuba, Sweden, the UK, etc.. etc.. Additionally, this isn't about the US being conquered. Currently, I don't think a single nation could destroy the American military. It's about the US remaining economically and culturally dominant.
I think it's important to remember that the people in America are much like people everywhere in the world. We humans are remarkably similar, despite some cultural differences. The vast majority of humans generally work towards the same goals, and some of us are simply lucky enough to be born in nations as wealthy as the United States, Canada, or nations of the EU (among a few others). Unfortunately, so many people seem to need to construct the 'other,' or, a group of people (generally from a di
all children should be given free health care to an extent. But adults should not be.
All people, regardless of income, should be given free health care. Sorry, but it works in so many nations in the world. People aren't poor because they are lazy (of course some are, but very few). People are poor because of societal and economic conditions. I didn't see Sins or Stardock as the focus of this thread...
I can understand that people have different opinions on whether a game is good or not. However, I strongly object to the people who seem to think that people keep playing a game because of its hype. If a game sells well, and people continue to play the game for years, they aren't playing it because of the hype. Trust me. I've bought and played games that were hyped up, but if they weren't fun, I stopped playing them. I can only believe that other people would do the same, since people a

Because the best RTS of the last decade was Total Annihilation.
I'm not sure I agree with you on that point - I own TA, and my friends and I played it, well, sparingly. TA was fun for a short while, and it was a good game, but I would hardly claim it's the best game of the decade. You know, there are a couple of problems I see here:
I don't know if anyone had brought this up in previous threads, but it's worth mentioning. The units and abilities in Sins are almost directly parallel to those in WC3. This fact took away a lot of the novelty of the game for me. Keep in mind I've spent years playing WC3 and know everything about the game. I remember buying Warcraft III for $90.00 when it was brand new. That wasn't a collectors edition or anything, either, it simply cost $90.00. Now, I was in high school at the time, and since I had a job and didn't have to worry about paying bills, $90.00 didn't exactly count as an expense I couldn't afford. Luckily, Warcraft III turned out to be a very fun game that my friends and I played for hours of fun. However, I'm glad that most games haven't taken that trend, and like Verkinix mentioned,

P.S. If you really want to know about your FR, you can get programs that will tell you your FR while you are running a 3D application. FRAPS is a good program for this, just to see your FR while you're running a game, though I know there is an ATI tray program (which I use) which will post your framrate as you run a 3D application. I'm sure there's something similar for Nvidia. If you're curious about tweaking your computer, check out www.gamereplays.org, and go to the 'Hardwa

I run all my monitors on the highest refresh rate possible, and I don't have any issues. Like I said, simply play around with the settings, and avoid running programs in the background that you don't need (check your task-manager, but don't just close a bunch of programs that you aren't sure about.
