I just took a mini-dump

Yeah, the game is wrong - I get this message every time I host, and the games still work perfectly. I believe I previously saw someone explaining it has something to do with the way ICO checks that the port 6112 is forwarded correctly, aparently the game doesn't do it right so a lot of the checks fail, when it's actually set up perfectly.
Er, if you've followed the FAQ on setting up a MP game, it'll work - sure ICO says that it might not, because the way they do a port open test sucks, but it works. I get that message every time, and never have a problem as long as port 6112 is forwarded to my local IP , and the port is allowed through windows firewall.. And like the above person said, if that still fails, Hamachi ftw.
Awesome, thanks for the tip!
Cool video, what did your battleship have to help kill them all so quickly? Or what did it exactly?
I'm an aussie player :)
I believe that is an upcoming feature in v1.03, to have the AI take over dropped players.
!Thankyou! Why was it there, what does it do?
I play mine on a laptop, 2.2Ghz C2D, 3Gb RAM, 32bit Vista, 8600GT, the only difference is the 7200rpm drive, but that'll only effect loading times really. I have everything on highest detail, and works great!!
I also have this problem, wonder what actually causes it to start? There must be something when closing the game that tried to open some type of media?
"my own girlfriend went to bed at 9:15, and I joined her 3½ hours later -- she was not amused! We then both had to rise at 6:15 am" This happened to me last night, playing my first MP game. She said not to make a habit of it.. The game was great though, went for around 4 hours in a 2v2 (all human). My side won, so it topped it off I suppose.
I play without sound all the time (at work..), I even turn off the voices as it can get annoying and repitive after a while selecting ships.
damn, i'm a few days late :P - am a newb myself, so wouldn't mind another game if your up for it?
I'm going to have to admin I am much like izach, I don't play many games, I 'check out' quite a few, play them a bit and get over them pretty quickly. I'll admit, I downloaded SoSE, had a fairly extended 'demo' of it - but because I have been hearing so many good things about SoSE from various places, and the fact that they don't have all the protection shit that other companies waste so much money on I just had to pay for the enjoyment their hard work has given me the past few days. <b
