Basically prevent them from using phase lanes - limit them to the planet where they were created.

If this has been asked before please feel free to just direct me to the appropriate thread... I would like to create a mini-mod which stops Frigate movement across phase lanes. Is this something which is configurable or hard coded within the game? If configurable, any related information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi All, Sorry if this is a repeat question, I did a couple searches here in the forum and didn't find the answer... The one thing I always disliked (a personal thing, I don't want to start a debate on the pros and cons [e digicons]B)[/e] ) was that the interstallar phase lanes always went from star to star. To me, I would like to see them go from the most outlying planet in each system to other outlying planets in other systems. Has the star-to-star default
Hi there, As long as you only want two teams, it should be doable based on the feedback I got to a similar post I did awhile back: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/post.aspx?postid=301031 I could never get it to work cleanly with three teams but at the end of the day I could set up the galaxy the way I wanted and just restart the game a few times until I got placed in the right slot by chance. This problem appears regardless of it you use a in-game map or
Sorry for the following dumb questions but I gotta ask... I'm playing Sins on my laptop and have no mouse (and therefore no mousewheel) to zoom in GalaxyForge. I tried the normal game zoom keys (z,x,c,v,&b) to no avail... please tell me there are zoom keys you can use instead of just the mousewheel. Thanks!
Thanks folks for all your responses. To be honest, I'm trying to cheat a bit here because the map I am playing has 5 phaselanes from my home star to local planets/asteroids and I can't defend all those connections and put together a fleet capable of attacking the remaining planets in the system. So, I thought if I could temporarily remove the stellar phaselanes so no more bad guys would come through the back door, I could redeploy those defensive ships into the battle for the remaini
Dear Webmaster, Please either fix the search feature for this site or at least open the pages to be picked up by search engines so I can google my searches. I'm not sure if this is a know issue (I couldn't search to find out) but I typed "zoom touchpad" in the search box and got the message that it found 0 matches... interesting considering the following post has those words right there in the title: <A href="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=408&aid=301101"
Can someone tell me how to identify and delete the phaselanes between stars in either Galaxy Forge or directly in the galaxy files? If this has already been discussed (I did a search but didn't find it) just hit me with the link to that post. Thanks!
Yeah but you still can't control where your player spawns compared to the AI players, and therefore can't control who gets the extra resources. I think Rogue was on to this the best but he hasn't commented further based on three teams instead of two which may be the key to controlling the randomization. I find it very interesting to read the various threads on here debating how much modding you can or can't do in Sins... I can't even setup a standard single player game the way
Yeah, yeah, and everyone's a commedian on the internet too :p So, now that I've paid for my internet faux pas... can anyone actually answer my "GalaxyForge" question???
Thanks very much Rogue! I did make one small change to your instructions which seems to be causing me a problem... I didn't want both the AI players on one team against me so I set the player2 TeamIndex to 2. I followed all the other steps above and it was still randomly assigning me to one of the three home planets. Can this still work with three teams instead of two, and if so, how? Thanks again.
Bump... C'mon guys, help a brother out... even if its just to say "it can't be done". Thanks!!!
Hi all, As we already know, there is no point in trying to edit existing galaxy files for singles player games because Sins randomizes who goes into the playerx positions... What I want to do is use one of the existing multi-star maps and then use GF to edit it making a solo map with 2 AI players; each of the three players starting in different star systems; and extra resources and credits for my player. Can someone please help with the steps I would need to
It seems several variations of this same question appear throughout the pinned "Galaxy Forge - Beginners Guide" thread... there is currently no way to ensure the player you select on the Team screen matches the corresponding playerx in the galaxy files. Here's to hoping the next version of GF or the 1.3 patch addresses this issue.
Since trainers use memory locations to switch values they work for all maps/galaxies, saving you from having to create your own galaxy and then edit countless files to "mod" these changes like everyone keeps saying. This game has like 40 different maps to try; I can understand people wanting to play them all without the repetative 12 hour preamble to get your research/upgrades complete everytime. I don't know about Sins, but many game's AI cheat to match/exceed player progres
Don't laugh guys but I still can't figure out this simple change... There doesn't appear to be corresponding settings in the player entity files under GameInfo (yes I looked at the converted files from the Sins Mod Package). The other intersting thing I noticed after several edits and restarts is that the game "seems" to randomize the player number relative to the galaxy file regardless of what team slots are used in the start game screen. Using combinations of three players (
I am playing the Areolian Sector map and have tried to edit the .galaxy file to change the values for player0: startingCredits, startingMetal, startingCrystal. Nothing I set these to do changes their values in-game; I always start with the deault resources. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!
