The current implementation of the ability is terrible. I doubt few will spend a point on it even in single player. There was a fairly lengthy thread about this ability a few weeks ago when the advent were first introduced in the beta. I've tried a few more games, this time vs only aggressive AIs. I'm still getting similar results though, they just don't build the fleets they use to in Diplomacy. The last game was with version .79 of the beta. After checking the stats screen (quitting the game at various intervals) I can see that I have anywhere from 3 to 4 times the frigates on the field as each of the AIs. This is with only upgrading to the second fleet size 45min - 75 min into t
I've put in a few hours now playing around with beta 2 and there appears to be an issue with AIs either building a very small fleet and any MANY defense structures or building nothing but capital ships and their titan with no frigates. I suspect the AI fleet composition is taking a back seat during this beta but the current state of things makes it very difficult to test anything and even harder to test balance now that the Advent have been added.
