babajimthe1, the files are on MY DROPBOX, just use the dropbox links, and the other site I use is THIS stardock(wincustomise) site, although I have used in the past the shitty mediafire. and the most recent are toward the bottom of the OP, and have killed off the oldest ones for more space in my dropbox(2gb account only). I do NOT use torrent as I like to switch OFF my computers when I am not using them, and it also slows my internet connection significantly when it is r

the first trick toward the faction names is fixed starting positions, with a MOD(do NOT alter the base game files, but DO copy the files into a mod folder structure first before editing) having the races names the way you want then (simple string edit and all strings are in text mode (can be edited with notepad++ (just alter the value lines only)(the strings folder *.str where the * is your language) regarding the altering of the research trees , the best answer is to look in the pinn
going from a larger hdd to a smaller ssd IF there is less data/files on the hdd than the size of the ssd should work without issues (btw I usually use hdclone booting from a cd to do the copy so that all files are NOT open or in use) going from a similar size hdd to ssd does work, and going from a smaller hdd to a larger ssd also does work again I usually boot from a cd of the cloning software to do the copy, then after the copy completes, I switch off and swap the data connec

my usual trick (in windoze (almost any version)) is to use drive manager to move the optical drives letters to the tail end of the range eg x,y,z, BUT I have not yet got around to testing this method in winHEX, so can not state that it does work, but it does in all previous windoze harpo the ghost NON-subscriber
to do this you would NEED to make a mod (one method would be the planet entities and edit them)and play with the mod active, and the so-called trainer cheats would be useless in the game anyway. harpo, the ghost NON-subscriber
this might just convince me to get it AGAIN at GOG(btw have both a local DVD and the direct versions, so will be a difficult decision), not dribble, then there will be no need for dribble in MY network which will free up drive space AND reduce the horrible TSR junk that hangs around harpo the ghost steam hating NON-subscriber

Jafo, as long as that machine does NOT have ANY traces of mcaffee OR norton products on the system (especcially device drivers for their 'antivirus' programs), it should be somewat ok. the reason I mention those programs is I had some customers that had attempted to accept the 'upgrade' to winxin the first month or so, and the computers all failed to upgrade and could not even get to desktop, I ended up reverting back to the previous OS, and then digging around in them
