I don't know if any of you realised this, but orbital refineries only give you the resources from extractors on NEARBY planets.
No, refineries DO gather from their own planets as well as adjacent ones (confirmed with testing). We have a pretty extensive guide to them going on the wiki [link="http://www.soasewiki.com/index.php/Orbital_Refinery"]here[/link].

The AI only cheats on the "Unfair" difficulty setting - Easy, Medium, and Hard only affect how it plays. I don't think the devs have ever said exactly how it changes. You can also set the AI mode independently of the difficulty - Aggressor, Fortifier, etc.
They're in the files 'GameOverTechWin.dds', 'GameOverTechLoss.dds', etc in the Textures folder. You would probably just have to edit these.
It's Control-Shift-Z to hide the entire UI.
Although there is a bit of randomness to it. I had three ice worlds, one right after another along a single phase lane, and the last one had many more ships than its companions.
That usually means it has an artifact. :) Try exploring it next time this happens.
It's not complete, but you could try the [link="http://www.soasewiki.com/index.php/Ships#Capital_Ships"]SoaSE Wiki[/link]. If you click on a capital ship, there are links to all of its abilities, and most of them have all ranks listed like: Damage: 500 -> 650 -> 800
CamStudio - It's completely free open source software. [link="http://camstudio.org/"]http://camstudio.org/[/link] Note - don't confuse this with Camtasia Studio, a commercial product.
That counter chart seems kinda weird. Unless I read it wrong or don't understand something about the game.Do gardas not counter LRMs Fighters and Bombers?
They are not the BEST counter (fighters are), but they are rather effective. Fighters do about 24 DPS to light armor, while Flak frigates only do around 20. However, as the chart says, flaks are by far the best counters against fighters, which have very light armor.
He's right. There should be a 'Local Settings' folder, in which there is ANOTHER 'Application Data' Folder. It's confusing, because some games put it in one, and some in the other.
