I think you have too little ram for the bigger maps. This game is a ram hog! My second guess along the same lines is that your paging file is very fragmented. Paging files should be about 1.5 times the size of your ram, so 1.5 gig. Set it to stay the same size, no change dynamically. To recap - you are having an issue with the screen image being stretched? What video card are you using, what version of directx, have you run the directx diagnostics - winkey + r then type dxdiag - run all the graphics options. The best balancing mechanism would likely be to increase the time between returning armada's. However, can we let the game playout for a month before we change our minds 50 times about which race has an unfair advantage.... last week it was the TEC and their LRM's.
