Ok, thanks :) I sent a mail to support! hopefully they will have some advice for me ;)

This engine is garbage... I cant play the game on my epic gaming rig as the effects cuts out early in the game. This leaves me with a game where i no longer can see swarms of missiles/lazers + + + cuss the game cuts them out for some reason. I thought it might have changed with rebellion, but i guess not. Lazy and poorly executed. (I have 2 gaming rigs, neither can play the game without the effects dissapearing, but my 4year old crappy laptop plays it like a god. Where is the logic?)&

Cant find anything related to this when using google either... Are these boards monitored by the devs?

So what i take away from the answers sofar is that there is nothing to be done? :p I always update my drivers (My geforce + everything else is up to date) I have tried tuning everything to minimum settings without any improvments, and i have also tried running it on max without any poorer or better performance. (Never tried to max out antialiasing, diddent think it could be relevant. but i might give it a go just for the heck of it) I have not modded the

I have had this problem on all my stationariy computers (not on my weaker laptop for some reason) What happens is during the course of the game, the fleets will grow! (i use normal fleet size) When i get to logistics lvl 2 in tech and have a handfull of ships the effects start to dissapear. I can now only see a few lasers, a few nukes on planets and very few missiles in the air. The death animation for ships are poorer to. This is the case with Sins + all the expansions. As ef

Sins of a pirate While i can to some extent agree that piracy hurts gaming, i feel that many of the pirates out there are kidz and geeks (with low income) who cant afford to get all the best games out there. I used to pirate games when i was young (im sorry) not becaus i was a bastard but becaus i really wanted to play the games.. And if i really loved the game i would save up my allowance for 3-4weeks and go buy it. Good games deserve support, crappy ones do not.. <
