Try doing what Heinekus posted, if you haven't already; that sounds like something that would be a better fix, though I have yet to try myself.
SennKS
I agree that Impulse integreation for Sins should be optional, especially for guys like you who run different platforms and such, but that the option should still be there. I've read several threads on how the online community isn't what it could be because it lacks a lot of the community options that Impulse could provide.
I'll have to try what you said, though I think I've found a fix of my own. Just on a limb, I decided to format a 2gig thumbdrive to use ReadyBoost. Since then, I haven't dropped once (knock on wood). If I start having problems again, I'll definately sweep up my drivers.
It would be nice to see Sins using Impulse more, much like how Demigod is, but that is up to the developers. Perhaps we'll see further integration in future patches/expansions.
I'm getting the same sort of crash while running Win7 RC. I really hope a fix for this comes out soon, because I'm really starting to get back into the swing of things online, and this is kinda annoying. I don't think it's my hardware either: Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P mobo AMD Phenom II 720BE (OC'd at 3.6 GHz) 4 GB Corsair DDR3 ram ATI Radeon 4870 More than enough to handle the game.
I'm waiting for all the expansions to be boxed together so I can get it in stores.
I'd have to say that I like KOTOR1 better than the second, though the second was still stellar. The second one would have been a lot better if it hadn't been rushed. I hear that a lot of stuff got left out (a whole sidestory about HK-47, for instance). This MMO could royally muck it all up...
I hope this game flops so bioware will actually make a kotor 3.
Agreed. I want to know what happened to Revan when he went into the Unknown Regions to fight the "True Sith."
NJO just didn't do it for me really. It lacked the Star Wars-ness that was present in the Thrawn books and the X-Wing series. Don't get me wrong, it had some good parts. I especially liked when Ganner went down like a huge badass. It just seems to me that NJO was a turning point in Star Wars continuity; like it sent everything into a spiral. It's hard to explain. You're probably right when you said it should have stopped with NJO. Seems like everythin
I'll be keeping an eye out for ya.
You no like Yuuzhan Vong SennKS? Why?
NOTE: If you're into this sort of stuff, there ARE spoilers for the NJO series, as well as stuff that happens later. You have been warned. [Rant on] 1. By the end of the series, the Jedi were all like, "Eh, the ends justify the means." Retarted. That's not how a Jedi is supposed to think. It goes against almost everything a Jedi is supposed to stand for; separates them from the Sith. 2. They had J
Eh. I have a thing against MMOs in general. I just don't like monthly fees, I guess. That aside, here's what I think about TOR: I agree with the people who said that it can't possibly have a good story because of the nature of an MMO. Good stories (ALL stories that I can think of, actually) require two things to define it: a beginning and an end. The stuff in between makes up the story. MMOs can't have definite ends; that would be s
I'd be up for vanilla Sins (don't have Entrenchment...). In game name: Gr33nF00t Add me, and if you see me online, gimme a hollar :P
the number of posts by devs is reversely proportional to the amount of progress made in the game.
This may be true (unless they just hire a guy whose job is just say "Yep, the devs are gettin' stuff done!"), but such update ease the collective mind of the community. We want it all, and we want it now. I personally don't mind not having release dates set in stone. Just look at Blizzard. They never give release dates. All they have to do is
I thought that the original intent was to release each mini-expansion separately then, once all had been released, sell a box/bundle thingy in stores with all expansions for around $30. This is pretty much the only reason why I don't have Entrenchment yet; I'm waiting for the fabled box (I like being able to hold my games, I'm weird that way). I'm curious as to whether or not boxing all 3 mini-expansions into one full expansion is still the plan.
Introducing the first mobile base in RTS games: The Crawler
I guess none of these people ever played Homeworld either.
LOL the chance of me seeing someone refer to Agnus Dei here had to be smaller than winning the lotery twice in a row. I would have preferred the lotery though [e digicons];)[/e]
If you knew me you'd realize that Agnus Dei is perhaps my favorite part of HW. I dl'ed the RelicNews community soundtrack for both HW and HW2. It's really good stuff. @Vinraith: I think the HW games have aged rather well, myself. Sure,
Agreed. I love the fact that I don't feel rushed when playing. It's very leisurely, which allows me to consider all of my options. As to online play, I generally play with a few of my friends, so what I usually do is call them up on the phone and ask if they wanna get a match of Sins in. But yes, I will say that the online crowd seems a little standoffish. When I go into a lobby, nobody is really chatting. Back when I played Homeworld, ever
5.Command & Conquer 3 (up until the 1.07 patch) It was actually a pretty good game upon release, then EA over patched it to crap. The Nod were given the be-all end-all unit (Avatar walker), the GDI were reduced to early-game hit-and-runners, and the Scrin were just made waaaay to OP. But before that, it was actually all right. 4.StarCraft Given. Fun gameplay, and a bunch of my friends played it too, which made it that much better. 3.SoaSE <
Yeah, I heard something about Supreme Commander 2 also. Also, keep in mind that there are two more expansions planned for SoaSE (last I checked, at least). The genre is in a bit of a lull, though. This is because computer gaming has been losing ground to console gaming for quite some time. I'm hoping that the computer gaming industry can make a someback here soon, because all of my favs are on the computer. Here's to hoping for HW3 :P
This all looks like a pretty good step in the right direction. I don't own Demigod right now, but I have been keeping tabs on everything that is going on with the game. Pretty much the only thing holding me back from running out and buying it now is that none of my friends have it right now and that things are still being worked out. It certainly looks promising, and if you folks keep on heading in the direction you are headed right now, I think you'll be a huge hit. <p
Nice man. I know exactly what you're going through; I just built myself a new rig a few weeks ago. Nothing quite as impressive as the lumbering giant you gave birth to, but...
It's very comparable to the IPhone and many other phones in the North American market--say that you bought an IPhone, and you want to switch from AT&T to Verizon. Hah hah, good luck.
The iPhone can be unlocked from the service to AT&T anyways, so you can kiss that argument good bye.

Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!" -Louis Tully "Ghostbusters"
I for one haven't had the opportunity to play online since I've lived on campus at college, where the network blocks the ports needed to go online. Now that I'll be living at home for 4 months, I'll be getting on.
