Megavolt made a good point, so I decided to check where the trade off is. At >54% shield mitigation in battle (culture bonuses), a 6% Advent mitigation bonus (6 upgrades) will completely negate the damage bonus of Vasari (4 upgrades), not accounting for phase missles. If you take into account phase missiles, say assuming half the dps is phase missles with 20% chance to avoid shield mitigation the magic number is 65% shield mitigation. Units would have to average 54/65%
The Expert Bounty Hunter tech says you get 12.5/25% more money when collecting bounties. Does this additional money also come out of the money on the player's head or is it just extra? Example: A player "Bob" has 500 bounty on him and a Vasari with Expert Bounty Hunter kills 100 credits worth of Bob's ships. Expert Bounty hunter means the Vasari gets 125 credits, but is the price on Bob's head 400 or 375?
Since the forum has not yet failed to answer my questions... 1. Do capital ships get XP for for ships/buildings scuttled nearby? 2. Is bountry awarded for ships/buildings scuttled nearby? 3. Does the Vasari tech (Wreckage Auto-Salvage) which allows you get resources for destroyed captial ships/orbital structures work if they are scuttled?
