You have to consider the Kol to be the most selfish capitol out there, it only takes from the fleet and gives little back. I will say that the Kol can stand alone, and hold it;s own well enough, but that's becuase it has rediculous defensive technology, but weapons on that thing are needy, greedy, and overall not very effective to on an a fleet as a whole. I've been giving this some thought and it's easy to see the kol as a tank, so give it tank abilities, It needs a taunt,

ok one thing I love seeing is people targeting my caps becuase if you get the 2 donuvs and 2 kols your pretty good. you basically have a circle of shoot me so I can regen my shield! PS. my frigates and cruisers do most of the work and killing the cap is just there to look pretty and soak up the attention. the Caps are such attention whores
Tradeports are simply spam them everywhere. Refineries are based on supply and demand. say you have a bunch of metal and no crystal and one ice planet. the ice planet gets a refinery maybe 2. in addition to it's tradeport.
As TEC, I go with the Kol first then the Donuv for backup then I get a second donuv to prevent people from tagreting the donuv's... AKA they'll regen eachothers shields
ok, as a primarily economic player, here's what I found as Tec. Early game you get your initial armada going, then expand and build up you econ as best as you possibly can the quicker you get metal and crystal and tradeport upgrades the faster you can recover from an assault. Tec's ability to recover is it's advantage over the other races. in all Honesty against rivaling fleet of another Race TEC has a rather tough time, especially if you don't have a recovery strategy. Repair and Armor are th
OK, just pointing out, sabotage Antimatter core. they bring Light frigates back into the game. random DOT damage to any and all ships, it beats the hell out of Ignite anti matter which is good only targeting capitol ships. the Key to TEC is really to have diversity, and model your fleet based on income ratios. If your literally dieing for a decent amount of crystal but have the metal to support it, you can pump Cobalts out pretty damn fast, In numbers cobalts have a fighting chance, until
My space pony died because it wasn't pretty enough...
I'd just like to state a few things to FF. Late game strategies make FF pretty ineffective. I've love you to FF on my TEC Battle ship, I'll turn off the guass gun keep the shield running while I have the Dunov's Regen the shields and thus you are suddenly screwed. by the time you actually kill it... (by then you probably won't) I'll ruined most of your fleet. Sure your caps are still pretty safe and I may lose my battleship in the end but you'll still have lost more ships. So, one
