Nice point there. Perhaps extrapolate different stats and have rankings based on the playing styles. What I mean is, you could have your basic warfare ranking, which lists players with the best kill to loss ratio (obviously taking into account the difference in races), and have the tech ranking, for the most tech researched total, then trade rankings, expansion rankings, etc. etc. I don't think an overall ranking is even necessary - the ladder doesn't need to show who won the m

I don't know whether anyone else has tried using Hamachi to play their multiplayer games, but we've found it very helpful. Using the normal means, we haven't played a game more than 15 minutes before it crashes out on us. A soon as we switched to using Hamachi ( http://www.hamachi.com/ I think) our games have worked perfectly every time. Has anyone else tried this? Has it worked for you too? I just thought people might want to know about this.
I was doing a little brainstorming (not too seriously) and I think it'd really be perfect. The only problem is there are only 7 ships per race in StarCon1, so it may need to be based in SC2 - or just make up a few new ones, though I'd probably take that as sacrilege. Cap ships could consist of the Chenjesu Broodhome and Ur'Quan Dreadnought. Cruisers could be the Yehat Terminator, Syreen Penetrator, Earthling Cruiser, Ilwrath Avenger, Mycon Podship and VUX Intruder.<br/
Has anybody considered a Star Control mod for Sins? Something recreating the great war from StarCon1 would be really cool to see. You'd only need two teams - the Ur'Quan Heirarchy and the Alliance of Free Stars. I think it sets itself up really well for a really good mod. I'm just throwing it out there (I've got an IP mod I want to work on - don't seem to be many out there) but maybe someone else will think its a cool idea too, and make something of it.
