After a some time in any game, my particle effects and explosions dissapear. Along with the warping animation and other little animations. Has anyone had this problem? I'm on a MacBook Pro running Vista 2.40 Dual Core 2G of Ram Anyone have any ideas?

I sent you an invite on xfire, my name is zuffdaddy on there as well. Hope to game with you soon.
I think that the whole "Friends" and "Chat" system needs to be reworked in general. I wish I could at least see my friends when in the game lobby, maybe send out invites? But yes, I do concur on the need for an "ignore" option.
The Kodiak Heavy Cruiser is just missing wheels.
No, I was being serious. Its easier.
HW and Sins are two COMPLETELY different games. I've read your posts about how you are just sick of people comparing this to HW. (found [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=402&aid=176265"]here[/link]) This isn't about dogging on Sins, it's about adding some of the most epic game music in history to an already great game.
Is creating a back up just simply copyuin the folder and storing it somewhwere safe so that I can put it back in if things go bad?
Yep, just duplicate it, rename it something like "Sound_2".
Wow here is a great way to listen to Homeworld's music without doing all of that!Step 1: Play Homeworld.
Really? I mean, come on. Seriously??!?! :P Go troll somewhere else!
My buddy is currently having this problem. I've yet to see any one from Stardock stepping up to apologize. He runs Stardock Central (which IMO is a god-awful frontloader) and it says he has an invalid Registration. Now he can't get the update which in turn he can't play online! So then I turn on my Stardock and it's saying the same thing for me! I even purchased the digital download and I'm having the same issues. What's going on here?
just tried it on an XP environment, its a no go. Gimme an hour or so
Hey Maheshjr, go to your forum account settings and enable email so I can send you emails through there. You can send me emails through there as well.
Awww, I really want this!!! Keep us updated when it's a go for XP
Yilmael, my version works for XP and Vista, it's just a .zip you extract. maheshjr2004 is making a self-extractor that will back up your files for you, so until then, you can do it manually (like my guide says to) or wait until he finishes his build. It's really not that hard of a process to do it my way. Let me know if you have any problems! :D
I am done now just need some unwilling testors MWAHAHAHAHAHHAA zuff I need your email.
zakfrazier (at) gmail (dot) com
Ill have a batch file that replaces and backups your old files up soon. It also allows you to restore. These files should work with any sound mod just follow the directions included.as a side note, whoever thinks command line in linux is hard as never tried reading a windows "help"(man) page.
Please let me know when you finish! That way I can update this post accordingly. Good luck! You're making my life a lot easier. :D
Adagio is not in this file, I think you got your files mixed up. It plays some other opening file thing instead.
Should be fixed now! :D
noone said anything about it working on online play with the new file!@!@!
It does! Don't worry!
It's spelled "Adagio for Strings", not "Audigo of Strings"
Ooops! My apologies, fixed! TY
My personal favorite Homeworld 1 song was track 16.
That is a good song, I just don't know where it would fit in here. Do you know of a good place to have it play? (For example: Battle Scene, Race-Specific Music, etc)
Congratulations Stardock!!! :D You've really hit the nail on the head!
Awesome!! This includes Adagio For Strings? Does this render online play impossible due to the changed files tough? I guess im about to find out
I've added "Adiago of Strings" as the Opening Theme now. New version is uploaded and ready for download!
Its only the best song in the whole Homeworld game.. Dont know where its located tough..Its on the official soundtrack tough.WWW LinkThat song
Sweet, thanks! I'm going to add it to the pack, probably as the Opening Theme song. I'll let you know when I'm done!
Awesome!! This includes Adagio For Strings? Does this render online play impossible due to the changed files tough? I guess im about to find out
Not sure what song that is and do you know where it is located? Also, I've updated the pack and added "Battle" songs from all three Homeworld games! Tell me whatcha think!
Excellent! I've been looking everywhere for one of these! I think I'd make only a few minor changes, I'll get back to you about them! Thanks again!
You beat me to it! I've been too busy working on my site's video Wiki tutorial...I guess I'll have to 1-up you, and make a self-extracting installer program, that backs up the original music, before replacing it with the consensus best Homeworld song, for the user.
I don't think I'd mind much! :D Let us know when you get it done! I've also noticed that the Race-Specific songs NEED to be changed. If I hear that ridiculous TEC intro song one more time...
MAKE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR SOUND FOLDER FIRST! I don't want to be held responsible for ruining your sounds folder so please do this just in case! :D NOTE: This does NOT inhibit online play! :D WORKS FOR XP and Vista! <span style="
Hey guys i don't know anything about moding, but is there and easy bundle i can use to set this up for myself?
I made the updates minus the faction-specific music and even compressed the .ogg files into a nice .rar so you can easily switch out your current Sins' music with the Homeworld 1 soundtrack. Thank you so much Fearzone for offering good suggestions! Here's the link to the set: [link="http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?fxnw0afj1q3"]homeworld_set.rar[/li
I've always used Vetrillo for online chatting while gaming and have never dabbled with Xfire. What are the advantages in Xfire? Is it a resource hog? Also, how do I discover people to play with using Xfire? Is there a thread on here just for posting Xfire accounts and finding other players? I've yet to play Sins online yet, due to the noob in me. I've beat the AI on Normal Aggressor and that's as far as I've gone. I'd like to get mor
Thanks for the quick reply. That is completely understandable, too. As massive as this game is, if you had 1,000 of those minute animations occurring at once it would really take a heavy-duty rig. I'm astonished at how well this game runs on my laptop. Mac Book Pro Intel 2.40 Core 2 Duo NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 2G of Ram I can run this game on maxed out settings at 1920x1200. Looks gorgeous.
Remember the freakin' sweet animations Homeworld and Homeworld 2 had? The construction process, docking process, and even the resource harvester all had their own animations. The ships would actually land inside or on different objects. Sins seemed to have just left this out (for simplicity's sake, I'm sure) and it's the only thing that pulls me out of the deep experience that is SOASE. For example when trade ships dock at the trade post, they just sit outside. I suppose the contents they
