You know that multiplayer games can also be saved, right?EDIT: IMO they should have never marketed the game as an RTS simply because it isn't one. Well, at least in the traditional sense (ie. crappy games like StarCraft). It's closer to MoO/GalCiv/SotS than anything else.
You might not like starcraft but I think you might want to reconsider refering to the best selling game of all time as crappy without any kind of backing..
1. Be aggressive early on with LRM to not allow mass Illums.2. Strike craft hit'n'run (you didn't mention Defense Vessels anywhere). Fighters will tear through the Illuminators.3. A well-balanced fleet with Kodiacs, Flak Frigates and Javalin LRM with splash upgrade. LRM can stay back, Kodiaks take the beating while the Mothership eats the missiles. After it is down, Kodiacs and LRM will make spacedust out of massed Illuminators. But it is true, Malice is an incredibly powerful spell.[/quot
Regardless of mitigation the age old RTS style of focus fire is still better than the alternative, you might get more dps by not focus firing but you'll still knock their dps down faster by doing it.. Unless they boosted the mitigation to ridiculous levels that would make the game highly unrealistic focus fire will still be largely the best option. Edit : obviously i don't just mean an "omg all ships fire at one target" strategy.
It annoys me but frankly if someone spams one type of ship it is quite easy just to spam a counter ship and ruin their fleet.
O.k I have a couple of issues late game, i'm sure everyone who has played a moderate to large sized game that has progressed to the ending stages will be aware of these. Unending games - yup, once you reach a certain stage the game cannot be ended the majority of the time, TEC gets their powerhouse economy up and running and can spam ships faster than you can kill them and the vasari opens up RA and starts spamming more ships than you can kill but it doesn't cost them anything. <
