Mind you, many of the so called elite people posting on the boards really are indeed elite and do know what they're talking about. Since I never compete against humans in MP Sins, JINX, I'll have to take your word for it :I don't have the MP experience & expertise required to evaluate the (possible) gameplay level of forum posters.I do respect & admire the competitive MP « elite », and I read its posts very carefully. My stated & restated point, on other threads, was of an altogether diffe
Hee hee...This is funny....What it boils down to is that people are upset that the Vasari are no longer overpowered and are now losing to people playing other races ( including the TEC...which were a little wimpy)Sounds like they are trying to balance the races...I play TEC ( I always play Humans ...even in Starcraft I always played humans)I haven't played MP yet to due the fact of TEC defiencies and all those stupid LRM spams....and mostly because I don't like people as a whole...Hee hee

I'd also like to point out that you can visually tell if a frigate factory is producing something but you have to zoom in, then you can see sparks from the production and a semi-complete hull inside the factory.

Simply doubling the cost and firepower of capships atm would not make them 'more capital' it would make them irrelevant beyond the first ship which would be the only important thing in your fleet, late game the capships would still get focus-fired and go down in less than a minute but now they'd be an even greater cost to them. The abilities is what makes capital ships useful and it's their survivability late game rather than damage that needs to be looked at..

I agree with the majority of the ideas but think fighters shouldn't be buffed that greatly, you also have to take into account that fighter squadrons tend to be larger than bomber squadrons, even though I see your point that against flak bombers would still be better I think bombers should always be a better choice against heavier armour types.
You numb skulls don't realize if there are imbalances it doesn't affect just the elite. We just spot it first. It trickles down eventually. And some people fail to realize that an "imbalance" only exists if the only thing one does is spam a particular unit or utilizes a very specific strategy, which is something that usually only "competetive" people do. If one approaches the game with a different mind set than one would probably never see the "imbablance" as such to begin with.
<br
We. Enjoy. A. Challenge. Regardless. Of. Who. Wins.Is that why you said you played nothing but Vasari, widely recognized as the easiest race in the game pre-patch, and then moved to TEC, which you said in your own words is now the easiest?
Actually Haeso said that. I played all three races depending on game type and map but am now pissed off that i'm confined to TEC only.
II'm so sick of hearing this said.Me and my clanmates play for the challenge, sure we like winning, but only if the game was actually tough and there's some sense of accomplishment. None of us enjoy stomping some n00b we want to play good players and get better, for this to be any fun it helps A LOT if there's balance and variety rather than us being forced to play a single tactic if we want to win. I don't mind losing but when i'm being asked to choose between doing exactly the same thin
a single tactic? i digress, my personal style is a single huge capship fleet, playing as vasariand while this patch does nerf vasari down to the level of any other race *gasp! its more balanced than it originally was*, my vasari play style still works well, so to you complaining about vasari sucking now:TELL THAT TO MY JARRASUL!i think he will disagreevasari excell in the late game, thats all there is to itget used to it and quit complaininganyway, enjoy your rant
Do you
I know many carebears (e.g those who shun competetive MP because they hate losing ) have no capacity to understand it. So I am not preaching to them. I am preaching to devs - in MP RTS games balance and dynamics is everything. You guys are really close to make spectacular failure out of SoaSe and makes people really stay away from your games in future.Look at MP RTS games which are synonyms of success -Starcraft, Dawn of War etc. They are what they are because developers understood t
It is my opinion that this thread has gotten off topic and my constructive criticism is that the black market is now and was before not realistic nor balanced and should have a limit and recharge for that limit, this would prevent the current state of affairs, but of course there'd have to be a max they can buy as well otherwise it would be just as unbalancing since the vsari gather metal and crystal so fast and realistic, but perhaps at random intervals the max could increase, and when t

190 Replies 203,484 Views

No the major difference in the market is that previously anyone heavy on resources could use their excess to sell and buy the resource they need, now you don't make enough money for it to be worth it so credits are more valuable and TEC is the best at making credits. Norrec - In my experience the majority of people ask for the wrong thing or don't consider the ramifications, when they get what they want they tend to complain more.

this is an RTS game Edit: before anyone bitches anymore at how soon these posts were made - these are predictions based upon play so far. We're not saying "This is how it is" this is just what it appears to be.
OMG CHANGE RUN FOR YOUR LIFE AHHHHHHHHHHH ITS EATING MY LEG!
I don't mind change with say, balance in mind, or to improve the game, I have massive issues with bullshit n00b-pleasing changes to make the people who don't understand competitive play happy in their twelve hour compstomps. This patch buffs sim-city building and nerfed siege frigates, why did it nerf siege? Because the AI builds fleets of siege and kills n00bs.

190 Replies 203,484 Views

So far in this patch I agree, the cheap selling of resources and cheap 'bulk buy' massively benefits the player who can amass the most credits at a given time, unsurprisingly this is the TEC who do little BUT mass credits. I can understand a game where a strong trading economy makes you a powerful empire, but what the hell is going on when having a surplus of a resource is almost worthless in comparison to credits? Vasari rushes relied heavily on the selling of usually excess metal but
Novaliths are overpowered anyway, 5 star systems and you can shoot a cannon that far away? It takes a fleet 20 minutes to make it to neighboring star systems as it is.
It's in space. There shouldn't be any frictional forces or severe enough gravitational forces to affect the payload once it's fired. All you need is a computer to calculate the angle and you could hit it if you gave the bomb a slight push, it would just take a very long time. Hence the big-ass cannon to giv

Actually having thought about it a bit more - you can put like 15+ defensive platforms around a planet, that would instantly destroy a seige ship every time it fired. I have no idea what you're whingeing about.

28 Replies 44,496 Views

That's what emergency facilities and jump inhibitors are for, with a 6000HP planet and 250% charge jump rate you should be fully capable of taking down a large number of their ships each time they try and take out a planet.

The real advantage of TEC late game is the powerhouse economy they can churn out with refinery and trade ship cargo hold increases. Vasari RA is probably still the best as it allows you to flood the game with mostly heavy cruisers and carriers. Advent late game is ridiculously weak in comparison imo, but they are probably the strongest race early on if used properly due to their early carriers and early-game squadron dominance.
