I come from a background in Company of Heroes and Dawn of War and have to agree. For this game to hit the Starcraft effect (where people start paying for it instead of pirating it for multiplayer) there needs to be a faster form of gameplay. I'd be all for creating a Quick Game mod that doubles the resource rate and halves the research times.
While I'm at it... why not just make Galaxy Forge Open Source? There're a handful of small quality of life changes that would take under a hour to throw in like saving confirmation on exiting and Save As vs. Save functionality but I could easily see not being worth pulling someone off the main dev team to work on.
Multiplayer: It would be nice if there was a way as a map creator to be able to more consistently control player spawn locations. Not exactly looking for a non-Dev response other than perhaps confirmation that this is happening to other people. What's been happening to us (me and a few other playing together most nights for the last week) is late in a game, usually 3-4 Hours in against Hard Advent computers, they will have built one of the AI's typical "Spam" fleets where they've got something like 10-20 Iconus Guardian cruisers. As soon as a player fleet enters combat with this fleet, they set off pretty much all o
