I've also been on maps where planets weren't all on the same plane, although I didn't realize it at first because I spent most of my time viewing them from above. As others have said, you can move your ships above or below the default plane. However, keep in mind that it takes more time to travel o---------------> that distance when you're adding height to it.

Yeah, I just don't get it. Particularly in that last image, I can't see why the white line chose a particular route over another. While adding a trade port to the center asteroid raised my overall income because it is an extra trade port generating money, the increase was minimal because the amount of income each trade port was generating decreased (because the length of the chain shortened).

I'm not sure I understand, still. Just as a test I added a trade port to the asteroid at the center of the map and the line changed like this: Pretty much what you said above.. but I'm not sure I understand why it's going that way.

Except the white line doesn't seem to be working correctly. In the image below I have two trade ports that should be considered part of the chain, but for some reason aren't. Hmm, 169.21 is currently the latest release from the Nvidia site. I'm probably going to wait until they get another version released there. However, you mentioned that "the problem has gone away in all games", which implies you were experiencing a problem like this elsewhere. So far Sins is the only game I've experienced this problem on. Now that I know that just snapping a screenshot will cause my frame rates to return to normal, it's not a huge deal, but the fact that it happens in

Sorry, I wanted to get some more information before responding. -My normal frame rate is around 30-60 depending on how much is on the screen/how zoomed in I am. Usually it hovers in the 50’s unless text pops up on the screen, which (due to the known text bug) causes it to briefly drop down to the 30’s until the text vanishes. -I have the latest drivers and my video card isn’t even remotely running hot, and I defrag regularly. -The task manager reports that Sins is usi

Despite having an older machine (P4 3GHz HT, 2 GB RAM, Nvidia 7800 GSOC w/256MB RAM), Sins runs very well. However, nearly every game I run into a problem where my frame-rate suddenly dives to 2 or 3 FPS for no apparent reason. It can occur just by looking at a planet with a single structure in orbit at a certain zoom level. Zoom a bit out or a bit further in and the frame-rate returns to normal, but returning the zoom level to something in-between reintroduces the problem

Is that how it works? I saved a multiplayer game which was running long, figuring we could just continue later on. Do I need to send that saved game file to my friend (and have him drop it into his saved game directory)?
