It is hardly the fault of Impulse or Steam that your IE is messed up and not fully updated.
Sure its not their fault. But i can expect a software that works on its own. (Btw. i never touched the IE since the installation of Windows. I assumed that the nearly daily updates of windows include IE as well?) Uh and i'got another reason why steam and Impulse suck! My IE is fucked up. Even worse than Microsoft intended. It won't install Shockwave, Java or Flash-plugins. No problem at all for me as i would never dare using this steaming pile of crap anyway. At least that is what i thougt. Now i must learn that Steam and Impulse both utilise the flash-player that comes with IE instead of the version of the default browser(Firefox in my case). That way the Middle frame of steam and almost the
Steam is already shit and Impulse seems to be following soon. Steam came up with the crappy idea that 1$ equals 1€ a few month ago. Now i saw the SINS:Entrenchment advertisement that says: $9.95 / € 9.95 / £7.95 In other Words US citizens pay $9,95 , british citizens pay $11,36 (+Changing fees) and Europeans even pay $1
The same here. I also noticed that the "glowing squares" in the roof of the TEC-station was misplaced. Instead of beeing in the middle of the station it was at the edge of the Trade-port-expansion pole pointing at the planet. I made a screenshot of it with "print" but i dont know where it is now?
Hi, when i tried launching SOASE:ET yesterday it just froze with a black screen. With some patience is was terminateable from windows. I seems that error i caused when Sins trys loading a mod(on startup) from the original game. If you remove the name of the mod in the settings-file in your Profile it starts without problems. @devs: If i recall correctly there were several patches that erased all personal settings? Quite annoying, but better than black screen... May be there is
The longest -lanes do not go throug allied systems (with trade pact and tradepost) either. I do not know if it was any different in 1.1...
How about a slow fireing ,single torpedo weapon that can disable hyperjump on an enemy ship for a long time with an range that covers a whole asteroid grav-well and deals seroius damage (1000). The first target priority should be caps. That way you could bypass the starbase, but you would lose one cap a least.
I had the same issue during a fun-match with a friend. He engaged my 7 Kols in an Asteroid field, so i thougt it was some kind of strangs new ability when a whole asteroid belt was passing by... As alyways if you find any bugs feel free to fix or report them. If i can find some time i might even adress them [e digicons];P[/e] . It is availabe in the mod-download-section of this page and in Impule. May be the link above can lead you there...
The only reason for fighters/Missles i can think of would be the visibilyty. Sure you can easily blast away any Missle or fighter with a lasercannon, but you have to see them first. Space is a pretty vast area with lots of background radiation. So there is a good chance to hit a Cap on long ranges with an undetectable low emmision warhead. One possibilyty would be to launch the warhead with an super-cooled mass accelerator towards the enemy ship. As they dont expect to be attacked its unlikel
You might have heard from the devs that they used "beyond compare" for programming. It is a really useful tool wich points out differences between files or even whole folders. It is a real releave when it comes to updating mods after a patch. Comparing the whole gameinfo-folder takes just seconds and the programm maeks every difference between files with colors. Sadly "beyond compare" is limited fpr 30 days. Then you would have to pay about 20€ to maintain it. But there i
I think the problem is the power supply grid. I saw so many rotten wood-posts standing around in unsave-looking angles with dozens of carelessly attached mid-voltage cables... The one in front of my window in Montreal made terrifying noises when the wind blowed. I never parked my car in front of it :D
Here in Germany i don't need one(No black out in 10 years), but when i lived in Canada a few months ago a UPS would have been great. In Montreal we had around 10-15 black outs in just one winter... In the end, i exclusively used my notebook for any important work. For my desktop i bought a high voltage/high current-fuse for 15C$ to protect it from lightning.
Try the errorlog: Go to your user.setting should be located here(it german but i think you can figure it out): F:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Fabian\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting\user.setting open it with a texteditor:
. . . Every time i bought a GPU i chose ATI because they always offered a better Benchmark/€-ratio. I dint think that will change too soon, but if someday nVidia has a better offer i woud not hesitate to by a GPU of them. It is exactly the same with AMD an Intel. Intel might have the faster CPUs but even in my dreams i would not pay 30% more for 10% better performance...
First time i hear of that problem. Where did you put the mod?

Still doesn't work i think? Here already wrote a answer abput that: [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/305839"]WWW Link[/link]
You Americans can use Europe as an example. The price per gallon is around 10$ here, and there are already serious efforts made to find alternative energy sources. I guess the price will rise until the majority uses alternative fuel of any kind. from there the price will drop with rising efficiency or at least remains on the same level ,if the Energy-hunger of the world keeps growing. America is spoiled(cant think of a better word) with low energy prices for the last decades. There is also
you can overwhelm enemy planets with culture, but you need an insane Number to do serious Damage..
Thats pretty much what i said... But for some reason there is a part missing in the path: "C:\Dokuments and Settings\"username"\local settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods\"yourmod"\Textures"
First of all Battle.net cannot be the reason for the big success. I think you heavily overestimate the ratio of Online-players/Non-Online players. Today its only around 15% of all gamers! Back when Starcraft was released our internet connection was 4€/ an hour. No sane person would have wasted more than a couple of minutes a day online. So Starcraft was played by lets say ~90% only in Single Player! It was the whole concept of epic story, easy gameplay and mostly flawless design(starcr
Its a matter of taste. I haven't finished a single single player map in Sins because it bores the crap out of me after a couple of hours(and because its nearly unplayable slow when more than 1000 ships are in space). I enjoy only the first 1-2 Hours of every game, or multiplayer. I don't want a game like X3 thats that complex you should get a diploma when you finished it after 400 hours. Freelancer was pretty much the same but with a much simpler control and a decent storyline, and i loved
As a mod extract them in "C:\Dokuments and Settings\ \local settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods\ \Textures" Then activate the mod in game. Or without Mod: "..\ \Textures" (make sure to make a backup of the original ones. Don't know how this effects online-play) e.g: "C:\Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Textures"
