Thanks for announcing the release date of the patch. I take back everything I said and would delete this thread if I could.

Thanks for the reply Kryo. I know my complaint was just that, a complaint; but I've been patient for five months and my patience finally ran out.
I have a legitimate complaint against StarDock and IronClad for failing to patch their defective product in a reasonable amount of time. I paid $50 for Sins when it first came out and still haven’t received the enjoyable game-play experience I paid for. The game was poorly balanced, poorly designe
n3Rull, Yada yada yada. My original point is still true. They should have had a patch out by now. Good to hear it's "almost ready". We all know what that means. for (weeks = 1 to 1000) { JustAFewMoreBugs() } One more point. When the game first came out, I balanced it, created a mod, and published a detailed list of suggested improvements here: <a href="http://letosilvermane.googl
Hello, I've got this spiffy Stardock Central installed and it's supposed to make it easier for me to get patches. I downloaded 1.05 back in May and have been checking back monthly, but there still aren't any new patches. It's been over 5 months. Why should players have to wait more than 3 months to get a few bug fixes and minor improvements? I'm not really interested in beta testing. I'd rather get an official patch that's been tested and won't
This one works with 1.04: http://letosilvermane.googlepages.com/home
Thanks Onigi, I'm glad you like it. Tekel59, I gave battleships point defense and I gave light frigates the ability to target fighters. The flack frigates are the largest of the frigates, do the most damage, and can fire in all directions at once. I've never lost a capital ship to bombers. If your fleet is mostly caps and cruisers, then reducing the light carriers to 1 squad each makes sense. Thanks for the bug report. I'll fix that. Moritzio, I've never tried Baik
Hello Graxx, Unfortunately, many players first experience with Sins of a Solar Empire is just as poor as yours. You see, in this game, you have the ability to build the most powerful unit in the game right from the start, and for free. Only thing is, it's a secret. You should build a capital ship factory and capital ship first thing. Then you will be able to take those planets near you and keep up with the other races.
I'm a little dissapointed that in 1.04 the AI still isn't building enough capital ships. Many have posted about that too. How hard can it be to double the ratio of capital ships to frigates? If there is a good reason why you can't do that in general, then how about providing a mod setting for it? The AI isn't building enough defense modules around it's colonies either. It's kind of a dissapointment to send a fleet to their homeworld and find only 3 defen
I have updated Heavy Nova 2 for 1.04. http://letosilvermane.googlepages.com/home
Building that first free capital ship is key to survival. They should make sure every player knows that before their first game. I agree about it not being a slow-paced game. There are mods that slow it down.
That's a great idea. I found a thread on Portrait Replacement and they looked pretty good; but I didn't see any mods to download. If you know of any that just replace the portraits, please let me know.
I dunno, it hasn't worked for you ;) It's worse than I thought. I'm suck with an ugly mug and nothing I do, restarting the game, changing teams, changing colors, etc; seems to change it.
I'm having a hard time creating a new random game with the portraits I want. It used to be that player as TEC always had the admiral's portrait. Now they seem to be randomly selecting the others. I have to exit the game in order to get it to pick a new portrait. This makes an already tedious process of getting a decent randomly generated map even harder. Please provide a button or something I can use to cycle through the portraits so I can more easily setup g
Good find. Thanks for letting me know. I fixed that in the spreadsheet and it will be fixed in the next update of the mod.
I enjoyed v1 a great deal and found most of the info on v2 to be well thought out and documented. My only request is that you would release the UNCOMPILED version of the mod so folks can still have a game they can mod. I played one game with v1, then abandoned it in favor of the ability to mod.I do like your ideas, but... not to the total exclusion of my own.
Sounds reasonable. I posted Silvermane.zip on the webpage with the mod files in text format. Enjoy, S
I tried it out with the Advent and the last Empire Tech Upgrade for Cyrstal Mining is either not listing the correct value or is not functioning. It says that it will increase your current value to your current value (no change) for at least the first two levels of it. Aside from that it was a good improvement over anything else I have seen so far in other mods, and much better than the vanilla. Thanks!
Thanks for pointing that out. I fixed it and posted an updated .zip o
Here is another approach. Start with your favorite mod, then edit Gameplay.constants. Find: incomeSpeedData-Fast incomeRateGameSpeedScalar 0.30 Replace .30 or whatever value is there with a larger number such as 3. This will give you more credits. Then find: sellPrice 0.8 buyPrice 2.4 Raise the sell price and lower the buy price. This will allow you to buy and sell minerals and crystals cheaply. Since gameplay.constants isn't
The folder GameInfo should have Gameplay.constants. Towards the bottom of the file are lines like this: fleetSupplyData-Small fleetSupplyScalar 0.75 fleetSupplyData-Normal fleetSupplyScalar 1.0 fleetSupplyData-Large fleetSupplyScalar 1.25
Hello Nekulor, Because Gameplay.constants isn't compiled. You might want to try raising the fleetSupplyScalar property. You can use that to double or triple the supply cap througout the game. Hope this helps, Silvermane http://letosilvermane.googlepages.com/home
Hello Bobucles, In Heavy Nova 2, I strengthend the pirates by making their ships tougher and their fleet composition more balanced. Gameplay.constants has a section pirateRaidDef that controls their strength determined by the strength of the empire they are raiding. By placing the upgrades in their heavier ships and restricting the heavy ships to the later raid compositions, you should be able to achieve what you want. That's how I did it anyways. Hope this helps,<br
Hello AKFortyWAR, You might want to try my mod Heavy Nova 2. http://letosilvermane.googlepages.com/home I have made a variety of changes from the vanilla game to improve resources. Each player's home system starts with 3 metal and 3 crystal asteroids. The home system asteroids are 50% more productive than normal. This balances out the high credits from the large starting population and home system tax bonus. I doubled the extraction rate of a
Hello, I think this mod is now complete. I just beat the game on hard in a medium map against three AI opponents. I used slow settings for everything except ship movement which was normal. Everything was fun, balanced, and reasonable at least according to my play style. There are always other things to balance, such as the anti-matter abilities, but I don't think it will add much to gameplay. The limiting factor now seems to be the AI. They need to build more de
Hello Antracer, I've tuned the resource costs and build times in order to provide a faster, smoother game. This may also help the AI build balanced fleets. In my last game, their fleet stomped mine, so they must be doing someting right. I'm playing on the slow settings now, so there are two faster settings. The defense modules have always been lethal in Heavy Nova. Now, they are a little tougher too. The pirates are stronger though so it balances out. My intention is simi
About ConvertData.exe I really want somekind of multiple file converting.
