I'm a TEC man at heart, although the Vasari do intrigue me. I guess its the rough feel to there ships, and I like their fluff. I really like seeing the wall of missiles that spew from the Javelis LRMs, and they don't sound funny when they talk. The Vasari just seem a little too slow and expensive for my tastes. As for the advent who would want to play as a bunch of exiled psychic space hippies anyway.

My standard tactics rely heavily on my empire tree with stacking. I'll grab all my caps and maybe a 10 stack of lrms and focus fire on a cap ship. The argument that damage reduction has diminshing returns doesn't convince me. Enough missiles hittin g will shred a ship even with 60% DR. I then take my 10 stacks of ships and assign them to attack a stack of enemy ships. They'll auto focus fire and I don't have to worry to much. I'm personally fond of the Akkan. Its usually my first Capship built, because it can take on asteroids and even ice/lava worlds by itself. Then the Added range may not add much DPS-wise for your lrms. However, it can add a couple of seconds, and therefore, damage. The Ion Bolt is helpful, but I find it somewhat underwehlming in larger battles. Another feature of the Akkan I like is the almost instant colonization of a freshly taken world when I attach it to my main attacking fleet. It
