me and 8 other people i LAN with are setting up a game in the largest map we can make, each one gets own solar system, and then we just TRY and be diplomatic like real governments do today. you dont see us attacking anyone for no reason, so were gunna do a "real life" space sim, starting with a time of peace, then slowly having individuals doing small battles amoungst each other, eventually ending up in total war, with FFA-2-3 side sluging it out over the course of alot of LAN partys. thanks! used that strategy and got at least a good foothold. not sure i would do well against real humans but i may try tommorow, after a couple more hours of practice. Oh and BTW i can never really see how long it would take for a large 200+ ship battle to last. seems like it would take forever, but i kinda want to try it.

whenever i play i either have the smallest fleet of all the ai, or i have the least planets. i cant seem to figure out what the best way ot play this is. yes i played through all the tutorials, but it still dosent help me with the finer aspects of playing the game. i would really liek to try MP, but i dont think i would last long. Any tips for a new player?
