Can sins be started up and played without the DVD once it is installed?

Why does my desktop screen go black for a half minute when starting the game? I have a pretty good PC and a very good Radeon video card. It's not not like the game doesn't start up or something, but it just goes black for a half minute before the stardock intro comes on?

This game must have been created by some MIT geeks? :LOL: I never heard of the word quenue until I read the manual. What does it mean in regards to this game?

Even on a small map one's empire includes 14 planets. I don't have the time in one sitting to play a scenario that long. Can't I customize my small map empire to just 4 planets? thanks

Stardock did not include a KEY BINDINGS list in the game manual or printed card in the game plastic box? I know you can see it when in the game and you go to menu and then key bindings.But you can't print it out? Wil there be one posted in the near future so gamers can print it out? thanks

Why can't I imediately establish trade routes with a planet I colonize right from the start? Sins won't allow it. For example I come accross an asteroid planet and establich some extractors for metal and crystal. My homeworld where I came from needs more crystal and if I could imediately establish trade ports I could refurbish my homeworld's crystal supply. But sins won't let me. What must I do to enable trade ports more quickly?

The manual does not explain how you select what resources in your military and civilian resource trees??? Say for example I cick on the military tab to the left. I then have about 4 icons lit and under different catagories. Like hull metalurgy, laser upgrade and etc. Am I suppose to click on EACH ONE of those lit up icons or are those icons just telling me what research is being done in that military research tree? I click on some and a number appears sometimes, while other times no number appea

Like I said, my main problem with sins, is the game only allows me to make ONE CAPITAL SHIP. Allow me to give you an idea of a typical scenario. I start off with two 2 Lev construction frigates.I have them constuct metal and crystal extractors.Next I develop the planet. Next I create a frigate factory. Next I create a capital factory.Then from those two factories I build one Akon capital ship, one scout frigate and 3 cobalt frigate. So I now have a fleet. Then I build a miltary lab and two orbit

I read the manual and I went thru the tutorials 3 times. I also built miltary and civilian labs for each colonized planet. I did research and researched the trees for military and civiliann research.The artifacts and fleet ones are BLANK??? So they are no use to me. I built a frigate factory and a capital factory plus icapital ship and about ten cobalt frigates. BUT THE PROBLEM IS THE GAME WONT ALLOW ME TO BUILD ANYMORE CAPTITAL SHIPS?????????? AWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEE!!!!!! Whats wrong with this sim.

How do you set the EASIEST settings for a single player game? I tried setting the single player game as small map with NO pirates and setting the 2nd team AI to easy random? But I still ose? So how do you set the EASIEST settings for a single player game?

I have played this single player game at least 25 times for a total of 60 hours plus and I always lose because the enemy AI always comes back at me with twice as many ships to my ships. I thought I set this game on the easiest settings.I set it on easy random for team 2 but I still lose.The game allows me to create one capital ship and about 6 frigates to start off at. I do all the extracting from nearby asteroids to build up my resoirces on my populated planet.

During the tutorial I was suppose to click on a report icon in the Empire report window and then hit the spacebar? But nothing happenned? There was no report to read and I could not proceed with my next lesson in my tutorial. The icon was surronded by a red box, but when I clicked on it and hit the keyboard space bar nothing happened? What am I doing wrong? And just how can I go on to the next lesson in a tutorial when it freezes? :NOTSURE:
