You know, if you guys wanted to, you could make Halo Wars of the EPIC SCALE. Sorry, if someone said that already. I read the title of the thread and thought that instantly.

What about the Halycon Cap Ship? I don't think many people enjoy the tactic of spamming bombers or whatever, but they're useful in their own right.
Random Maps are simply the best. They add to the mystery of space.
With Vesari, 10 Purge Vessels and a Rapture Cruiser with 1 or 2 Domination Auras usually seals the deal on planets for me before anyone can act. And since the Purge Vessels are being "focus fired", why don't you try some kind of backhand strategy where your main purpose isn't really to siege the planet, but to destroy other things or escape easier. This is a game about tactics. Come up with something crafty.
Advent seems a bit more defensive for early game. That's just how I play it. Of course you don't want to do it for too long, but usually I just colonize two to four things. Go insane with Logistics for a while, Adding Hangar Defense (which only needs one hostility tower and the upgrade needs two) everywhere. Then after I've gotten a large enough force, I go for whatever I see fit to take. Of course, this is just basic Human vs CPU tactics. Actual people would probably play better than t
By looking at the statistics of a game, I learned that the same guy who asked for an alliance with me is the same one who put 1750 on my head within the first 15 minutes of the game. I don't hate him, although I am going to beat the crap out of him next time we play.
Well, I'm still a noob but I've been liking the Advent a lot. So far, it's been like this. Disciples are your best fleet for the early game, and they are pretty useful until you do get to unlock other things. Sieges are meh because they're taken down easily, but if you ever noticed a place unchecked, you can spawn about 10 of them and send them to a location of your choice, it makes a decent disturbance strategy.. at least for me, anyway. as far as the other units, Cru
Last game I played, the pirates had one route to anywhere. So I just colonized the only planet that they could head for, added three Hangar Defenses and had about 4 Drone Hosts sit there. I never had to worry about pirates for the rest of the game, even when they got to severe. I even started creating Capital Ships there because the pirates were a general source of good experience (especially with L2 Mass Transcendence). The AI, though, had quite the problem. I don't know if it was beca
Bounty Hunters that go after Pirates? Awesome. I want Space Ponies now.
You should've just used all that resource to make a bigger fleet and then rush them while your Dev. Engine shoots the blast to increase your damage output, although, I'm pretty sure that's what you did in the end. I haven't even noticed how much culture is used in the game. I knew it was like an underlying power, but this is very interesting. I guess I'm going to stick to Vasari for a while. I want that Pop Idol achievement. =p
Don't give up! I'm serious. The best advice I can give you is play Random Map and learn from the things that your opponent does. That's where I got my small amount of tactics, like sending out the Pirate fleet to attack them, while you attack a different location. Forcing them to either split their fleet, or focus with only one side (usually being the Pirates side). Just stick with it. When you think you're going to lose, you can always go back, think about the board position and what y
I'm so going to do this. An hour and a half is like.. nothing in this game. but I'm not that great of a player yet though. =/
