Make some 1v1 tournament maps with 7-9 planets and it will be full of EPIC and WIN.
Multiplayer is fine. I'm on a college network and I can host/join just fine. Fix your nub networks.
Should I stay (Sins) or should I go (Warhammer Dawn of War) ????
Sins. Dawn of War =/= a strategy game.
Trying out the demo is a fallacy. Buy the game. Now.
This thread is not ORIGONAL.
Jon, you are clearly just trying to provoke me, so no, I do not care to answer your questions, and at no time did I claim any superior intellect.Posters such as yourself are quite frankly why it is impossible to have a rational discussion about the reviews of this game (not the game itself, which is not even what I'm attempting to debate). Laugh away, if strangers on the Internet are able to provoke such a strong reaction. I won't be baited, and will only discuss the game and its
Okay, I'll bite, in the name of not being called a troll. Here's some specific criticism:The screenshots accompanying the reviews that I've seen sure are pretty, but the fact is that you will play the game zoomed out to maximum 98% of the time, so the graphics essentially do not matter. It's the same gripe I had with Supreme Commander, another game I felt scored inordinately high based solely on the pedigree of Chris Taylor.Anyone want to address that?
Supreme Commander
I tried to bring up this topic before (that the Sins review scores seem unusually high and that the text of the reviews accompanying those scores doesn't justify them) and was run off the boards in a similar fashion.
Do you have any proof? If Sins is such a "mediocre" game, then why are you here? Define unusually high. How can a niche space-strategy game be the product of overhype?
I do apologize for trying to have a discussion about t
That is the first even halfway objective review of the game I've read. I swear that most of the people writing reviews for Sins never played beyond one game before writing their reviews.Once the "wow" factor of Sins wears off, you are left with a very mediocre game, in my opinion.
How was that review any more objective than the others? There have been some really good reviews of this game, but this was NOT one of them. The thing was barely 600 words and barely scratched
Lazy review with no real valid criticism. Gametrailers was the best.
Okay fanbois, tell me why I'm wrong, since dissenting opinions aren't exactly encouraged around here (which I understand, this forum is meant as a marketing tool).
Sure.
DEFINITE WISHES -More Planet types -1-2 New Capital Ships for each Race -More visible weapon effects -New ships and abilities for existing ships -New research options -Research for colonizing gas planets -More upgrades for Planets MAYBE -The latest trend in RTS expansions these days is to tack on a new playable faction with each expansion. This is great if the faction fits perfectly, but often the added factions feel uninspired and redundant. If the devs
Buy it immediately.
Wait, this isn't a joke topic? FAIL.
How bout some replays? ;)
If the devs don't fix Disciples...I'm going to write more angry posts! Their shields need to be nerfed by 27.35% or LOL THIS GAME ISN'T PRO ENOUGH!!1111
Text doesn't seem to be always connected to it. Perhaps it's some kind of overlay or transparency issue. However, why it shows up (and so badly) when only text from whispers is on screen is way beyond me.A lot of staring at an empty planet while watching processor usage in Task Manager and frame rate in game led to this info. Hope it's useful.
The text lag never seemed to be all that bad to me. In fact most of the lag I get in Sins seems mostly random or tied to larger en
What's my Advent strategy? "Go big or go home". By the time I've expanded my empire so that I have 3 locations I normally have a second capital ship pulling out of the factory if not even earlier than this. If resources are on high I'll even have a third capital ship beginning construction now or shortly after that second one leaves. I normally do this by starting with a Progenitor Mothership for that colonizing ability and let it go alone for a while and get beat up. If enemies are nearb
Never mind. I give up. I'm unwilling to participate in this at all. What an annoyance.
You've "given up" like 3-4 times already. You done for real this time?
I've only played two comp games so far, but I have to agree that the AI in fact seems less competent than before, even on the "Unfair" setting. They built almost no units. Bug?
I like 1.03 as well. I also agree that the chat system should not have lost functionality. It should have the new commands as well as the old colors and target sticking.
Having to type /a constantly in team games is quite annoying. This should be fixed quickly IMO. Chat worked fine before.
I approve of this thread. However, balancing could be better.
Look are you familiar with the old let's do Blah blah blah and find a scape goat pigeon to be on the receiving end of it. If it were Chess there would at least be a visible playing field. As you are well aware the expectation is it's reasonable to believe at least a portion of the game is to build an empire. At least that was my belief. It was misplaced because this was little more than being on the receving end of a stacked orchestrated eliminate this guy BS. So, I'm not into that.
Playing RTS games online has always been a load of horse shit. 'Strategy' is a myth and really has no bearing at all on how "RTS" games are played online.
Really? Perhaps you haven't played Kohan?
Sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the game.. There is no such thing as a game that EVERYONE is going to enjoy. I do have a suggestion. Take the package and the game and the serial number, wrap it up in some prety paper and give it to someone who you think would enjoy the game..The feeling you will get will be worth a lot more then $40 and the feeling that you will give that other person will be worth more then $40 to them..
Excellent plan. This game would make a great
