Mongooser

I have searched the manual several times and cannot find out how to use a wormhole. If it is in the manual please tell me what page? I have moved ships to the wormhole but nothing happens, I have tried clicking it and moving ships on top of the hole and nothing happens? Thanks in advance! P.S. Awesome game by the way :)

Hello all :) I just got the game and understand everything but the mining refineries. Am I suppose to build one per planet/area, or am I suppose to build one near resources in an area that you cannot colonize?
