Just a head's up; that problem I had a few days ago installing the mod seems endemic to WinRAR, as even with a fresh download it failed to unlock everything. So I got 7z (it's been a long time since we swiped WinRAR), and it opened the file and installed fine. So that solved that... So, first time playing Sins for a while, playing with mod, and about four systems (one of which is a dead dwarf asteroid) in I ran into a pirate system complete with four pirate capi
Aotrs Commander
Right. I'll try again without the patch tomorrow, then, that's probably a good starter for ten (and try re-downloading the mod as well.) Thanks.
Having trouble installing. I'm not completely stupid, so I've read the destructions (and the link to the better destructions), but I seen to be having problems. I've tried doing it twice from scratch, but every time I get as far as enableing the modules, Sins spits out a mini-dump and crashes. On the thrid try, it seems as though WinRAR is falling over on several files, and giving me these messages - ! C:\Documents and Settings\DeathDespoil\Local Settings\Appli
This mod doesn't effect anything in Sins at that low of a level. Texture corruption is usually a graphics card issue. Make sure your card isn't getting too hot & overheating.
Right. I'll have a look at that. I have had the odd graphical glitch before on other games - but it's never been that exact problem, so I assumed it was software. Not thought to check that. Thanks. (I'd have replied sooner,
I've just been trying the mod, which is excellent (and I'm eager for the Dynamic Movement to be updated for diplomacy to really make the most of the improved grpahics!) Anyway, I have encountered a potential problem. After about an hour or so, the graphics went a bit haywire; notably the buttons were not showing correctly; in fact a lot of the UI seemed to be showing the wrong textures or something. I managed to guesswork my way out and start the game again, only to have it happen (not quite

I have a lot of time for Stardock. Are they perfect? No. (Though if we can can just train you guys out of excessive random in-game events (Gal Civ 2 and Space Rangers 2, lookin' at you), you'll be gettin' there...) But I think they have a sane attitude t
As for those saying "Well I never play campaigns anyways and they don't add anything to my experience so just leave it out and focus on what I want." Well pish and posh says I to you. I don't play multiplayer... ever (except in mmo's) yet not once have I nor will I ever post on a forum and say "I never play multiplayer and it doesn't add anything to my experience so just leave it out and focus on what I want.
@Aotrs Commander He means use a proxy server to make impulse think you are in America. It's probably not entirely legal because the correct taxes aren't being paid, not that anyone would care enough at that price. I just don't know where I would find a proxy to do that and I'll not spend any time doing so for a minor expansion such as Entrenchment.
Oh. Right. More effort than I'd care to spend, too.
Well, if you have any friends in the US you can get them to buy it as a gift, or if you can find a proxy (some have for other purchases). So there are ways around it, at least.
Oddly enough, not everyone in the world knows people in the US...! I suppose I could - and maybe will - find a proxy as and when, but assuming that it is cheaper, it also means, does it not, that Stardock gets less of the money I
I find this greatly ironical, since I came to the site today on impulse (no pun intended) because I have come to respect Stardock a great deal for not ripping me off - and being exceptionally good value for money. (I bought Sins as a download before it was released at retail in the UK (I believe at the time there was not even a projected publisher for the UK).) I had been reading Brad's article on piracy and I thought to myself, "hey, I wonder if they've got anythin
