The OP has a valid point and many of the initial posts on the first page bashing him/her are idiotic. When an inconvienence is experianced a user will revert to a more comfortable means of engagement. A user is only going to install something they trust and even though such trust is nebulous there's generally a percieved threat level of being forced to upgrade software that previously functioned well for the user. I do not use IE7
Ive played X3 and i didnt like it at all. I had bad graphics, difficult controls, and a very complicated HUD. If you really dig the space fighter genre, try out Freelancer. It was made in 2003 and i had a really fun time playin it.
X3's graphics are inferior to Freelancer!?!? I suspect you tried it prior to 2.0 being released 'cs the game looks awesome. Not sure if you can use a HOTAS with Freelance
I've been using Vista 64 Ultimate for about 3 months. There's many things I like about Vista but not as many as when I upgraded to XP from 98x. The main problems and frustrations I have with Vista is the inability to close processes. Vista does not like it one bit and I can easily force a BSOD from closing simple processes through the task manager; I realize the BSOD is my own doing. The only crashes I have are with IE and I expect everyone to ex
I play EVE Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO). Not going to talk about EVE since there's plenty of info already made available. DDO is a pretty good game that's extremely tactile and strategy based with incredible character dynamics. I highly recomend trying a Free Trial of DDO if you're looking for an MMO; its more of a niche game then EVE. If anyone would like a FREE trial to DDO they could send an email to mindspat @yaho
Maybe we could make a fifth race for kicks that is all of the ships and such...
Do you mean the Jove? There are videos of a few Jove ships and best chances for this being implemented would be to have the Jove function as a type of random event.
I also play EVE. To compare Sins to EVE I would say this: Where it might take you 2-3 years to experaince EVE to the fullest of fleet warfare and politcal strife you can experiance something similar to this in Sins after an hour or 2. Obviously, there's a lot more differences then these which will never compare. On the brightside, you won't be waiting 10 minutes to activate your turrets when you're involved in fleet engagements of 300 vs 300 in Sins, but you also don'
I like to use a combination of Hangers, Defense Platofrms and Repair Stations. I somewhat group them up in this order: P DP H RS P = planet; DP defense platform; H = Hanger; RS = duh :P I like to place the defense platforms closer to the planets to help mitigate possible siege frigates. I don't use this *exact* placement in relation to the distance from the planet although I relatively stick to it. Basics of my approach are DP's closer to planet, Hangers slightly
Hmm, I can swear I paid 35.00 USD for it. The price was VERY good for the product and I've not regreted it. I thought the US Dollar has fallen in value. Shouldn't everyone actually be getting a discount due to exchange rates? You care to guess how many console games I've paid $60 USD for that havn't recieved more then 3 hours of play time - 6 of 7! And these console games are refered to as AAA titles in the industry. pfh This game is deffintely worth the purchas
I believe that all companies should be given a second chance and the benefit of the doubt. I would much rather entourage a company who had previously released the worst DRM ever made if they did a complete 360 on what they did wrong with their next game, this also sends a very strong message to other developers/publishers that quality and user friendliness is worth it.
But, if they do a complete 360 wouldn't they be doing the exact same thing as before? <b
I purchased "Star Wars: Empire At War" for the PC when it had launched. Due to the copy protection I had made 3 attempts to replace the game with the retailer. I was recieving a msg along the lines of "place the original disc in the drive", etc. As it turned out, the security malware used in Empire At War also disabled my CD burner. After several emails to developers, distributors and the DRM producer, they all claimed it was someone else's fault and provided no assistence. <br
Its Legions of Iron not Iron Legions.
oops - thanks for clarifiying that. It's still one of the better Space Opera's out there however you spell it. ;)
And this game plays amazingly well! I was a little apprehensive at first since there seems to be an industry standard to make games that require massive hardware purchases. Thankfully Sins does it right! My little p4 2.8 prescott chugs along pretty well. I've made a few improvements to the box over the last 4 years and I think it's paid off. (ati x1950pro 512mb AGP; Dual Channel DDR x2 1gb) One thing I've noticed is there's a pretty big performance
