I find that the mass market wireless technology is generally not very well suited for heavy use. Those $50-$100 routers are ok for sporadic use, but not for sustained periods of time. If you want performance and reliability - the hardware costs jump by an order of magnitude. Now you're looking at mid-range Cisco routers that cost upwards of $1,500 instead of cheap consumer-grade Netgear, Linksys, D-Link and Buffalo crap. Unfortunately stringing Cat6 across the house is not always an

I remember a post a little while back confirming that the systray support is broken on pirated versions of OD+. Not to accuse anyone having this problem of being a pirate, just something to consider. Also, a few things to try: 1. System tray support is available on the Tabbed docks by adding a new system tray tab. 2. On the plain (non-tabbed) docks, under the "Dock Contents" section there is a toggle to either display the taskbar icons ("Display open windows...", or the sy

Having a few issues with the latest beta of OD+ on my 2 machines: On the XP SP2 laptop, the taskbar (which is set to be hidden in the OD settings) sometimes appears and does not go away until I click somewhere on the desktop background. I believe this is happening due to one or more programs updating their status (and icon) in the tray, or trying to display notification baloon tips from the tray, not sure. One such program is SVN No

Ok, I uninstalled the RC and installed the actual SP1. In the meantime while digging through the forums I ran across a thread discussing an issue with AGV antivirus, so I did what was suggested: uninstall WB, disable the Resident Shield, re-install WB and re-enable the shield. Everything seems to have sorted itself out. WB works fine now, and properly switches the skins. Don't know which of the above fixed my issue though :)

Thing is, I purchased OD (with WB) after SP1 was already on my machine, so I don't really have a baseline for comparison. In any case, right now I'm in the process of uninstalling the RC and installing the actual SP1. Just to eliminate some of the variables. In the meantime I'll take your suggestion and dig through the forums to see what people are saying about the SP1.

I'm sorry, what is this "taskbar" that you speak of? ;) Haven't seen it in months. OD does a lot more, and with a style.

On my home machine (Vista SP1) I have a tabbed dock with "Show as drawer" option enabled. When it's in the hidden mode and I roll the mouse over any of the tabs, the dock pulls down with that particular tab selected. This doesn't seem to work on my WinXP SP2 laptop. There when I roll the mouse over any tabs, the dock pulls down, but the tab doesn't automatically switch to the one I'm pointing at. Instead, it shows me the currently selected tab. Is there a setting th
are your running DTX from the start menu or from Impulse or SDC?
Same error running it from the start menu shortcut or Impulse, haven't tried via SDC yet. I ran the EXE directly from explorer and that loaded the main program, but most options still give me the same "doesn't seem to be installed" error.

Since this forum is not searcheable (get a database error when I try) I need to start a new thread... I'm an OD subscriber and just downloaded and installed (via Impulse) the latest (beta) version of DesktopX on my WinXP SP2 laptop. After a reboot whenever I try to launch the DesktopX I get the following message: "DesktopX does not seem to be installed on current machine..." Is there something that I'm doing wrong here?

You kids with your fancy-shmancy programming languages. In my time we had to use zeroes and ones. And sometimes we'd run out of zeroes, so we had to use the letter "O".

I've been fruitlessly searching for a few docklets that would make my Vista and OD experience much more enjoyable (and even might convince me to upgrade to OD+ ;) ). The first one is the simple Digital Clock docklet. When I hide the Windows Taskbar I lose the clock. Unfortunately my problem with the analog clock docklet is that it's difficult tell time on it without rolling the mouse over it, at least on the screen resolution I'm running. A digital clock would be m
