there is also a stargate mod, which I am working on.our site is Here

actually there is a BSG mod in the works as of now feel free to visit the mod siteWWW Link
Ill be honest i love both those shows and i wish you both much luck in this, but honestly There isn't enough Canon material for ether of those shows to make a realistic true to series mod out of this game. You are going to have to seriously fudge so much material that it wont even resemble t

I gota say a bsg mod would be rather dull unless it was made into a campaign that mirrors the show. There simply isn't enough canon material to use for a fleet. You would have battle stars...raptors...and vipers....thats it. Same with the Cylon fleet. Stargate isn't much better.

If i may suggest some more contemporary factions for you. Although the factions you have could work. They don't ever appear in the same starwars time line. By the time the Chiss appear, the Rebel Alliance has become the new republic etc etc ... Putting the time line just after the latest book series gives you six major races, all of whom maintain standing fleets. This period shows the Galactic Alliance as the major power in the galaxy with the Empire, stationed on Baston, and

May i suggest browsing the forums a bit. There are no fewer than six total conversion mods which by their very nature bring new ships into the game, and at the very least two or three mods already out that change the look of some of the ships.

The problem with a mod like this is that it turns the game into a rushing match to see who can grab up as many planets as possible as quickly as possible. You want to encourage intelligent playing, not rushing, and certainly not wanton expansion just for the sake of a fleet cap. what would happen is whoever got a couple planet advantage would end up winning because he could just build a bigger fleet and win through strength of numbers rather than any sort of actual intelligenc

Ya...zooming out is not the way to make a game feel larger. Now if you have a God complex and you want to feel like your in control of everything, then ya this might be up your alley. However if you want to make a game feel big, let people zoom way way way in, and make the ships massive. Basically the mod your describing is chess on a solar scale. Thats fine, but not what this game is designed for at all. Best thing you could do is design some maps that are more reali

ya man, As cool as farscape is, somehow i don't think its the sort of thing that too many people get into. Otherwise it would still be on the air. Id be interested, but im a web designer, not a programmer. Starwars = universal appeal Startrek = mostly universal appeal Stargate = universal appeal Farscape = three dudes eating cheetos, thats it...

As much as i love superweapons, how are you going to even begin to balance something like this? Wouldn't this turn the game into a race to get to the superweapon first? its like if they had a deathstar in the game. Everyone would sit there and race to the deathstar because its clearly better than anything else.

no offense but there are already about three or four mods that do this already. If you want to make a mod, try adding new races, or re-imagining the races that are already there. More depth to the game. Don't take something that is pretty much balanced already and just change a few little things. If you want your mod to stand out, make it visually different from everything else.

Just a thought for the pirates... Since you cant find another way to use the borg, and the pirates don't seem to do much more than blow things up anyway, Why not have a rare chance that a borg cube warps in and starts blowing things to hell. It would take an entire fleet to take down, and if you arn't careful, will rampage unchecked through your empire. Its sure a hell of alot more interesting than regular pirates or Maquis, who may i point out, were wiped out by

Anyone who played Homeworld quickly realized the value of a single player campaign. Im sorry but that was the best RTS campaign i have ever played through. To this day i will go back and play through it just for the epic scope and the epic feel of it. I was sad when i found this game had none of the epic feel that Homeworld had, and it wasn't that Homeworld was all that epic, it just felt epic because of both the story and the camera system. As cool as this game is, the ships, even the capital s
