Nice post @ italia559 I play Vasari also this way and it works fine. First military than economy. Here is a list of what I think is important to research on the first 3 tiers. Warfare: 1. Assailant Prototype: It's the main part of the fleet...most important 2. Skeletal Reinforcement (+ following): Vasari ships have many hull points, so hull improvement means a big advantage...first point brings +36 hull for an assailant, that are 2 shots of an enemys LMR. 3. On my Planets near to enemies homeworlds I usually build 6-7 turrets and 2-3 repair platforms. If the enemy attacks and the first turrents got destroyed I immediately build new ones...they are not that expensive and can take a lots of damage. I destroyed a whole enemy fleet and his capital ship with this tactic without even moving my fleet to that planet (It was needed elsewhere).

Basically I'm playing Vasari and take the colonizer first. I like the "space whale" a lot ;). In my opinion it is the most versatile ship with the best support skills: Colonize: You don't have to care about colonize frigates, which are expensive in the early game. Because of the big amount of antimatter the skill is always ready. Gravity Warheard: Prevents other ships to jump when they try to flee. The best skill to nail and take down enemys capital ships. <br

Take a closer look. There are 2 lines with upgrades...the upper line raises your capital ship capacity the lower one the fleet capacity. edit: too slow^^

Reply to LRM Spamming?? in Strategy

@ jamoore42: There are no lame questions. It seems to me that you analyzed your problem right...you have to expand really fast to beat a hard or unfair AI. The best way to do that is spamming Long Range Frigates and rush from Planet to Planet. Normally the AI needs more time to expand than you. Most times it doesn't take the colonize capital ship, if you take it you are much faster. It also depends on what you set the AI, you can set it "defensive", "aggressive"...

I'm asking myself against how many teamed unfair AIs you can win solo? Today I won against a 2 unfair AI Team (Advent/Vasari) as Vasari on a small 3 slot map. Against 2 was hard but I think to win against 4 isn't possible...maybe on a big map. Has someone tried to fight 3 or 4 teamed unfair AI's?

Defense Vessels do 15% more damage than Flag Frigates...but I think both of them aren't an optimal counter to LMRs.

On small maps, against AI, spamming LRM's is all you need to win. Even unfair AI can not counter it.

I once won on a 6-slot medium Map against 5 hard AI's. It looks to me that you are too defensive...especially in the early-game you have to be agressive in order to get in an advantageous position. That means the more planets you get at the beginning the less you have to conquer from your enemys later and the bigger is your income advantage. Here are some Tips that worked for me: - Take the capital ship that can colonize first. It might not be the strongest but it will spread your t

In my opinion, the mid and late-game depends on which faction you are playing but the early-game is similar...when I played against 5 hard AIs as a Vasari on an medium-sized map the following early-game-strategy leaded to a victory: Early game is all about speed...so do everything as fast as possible. 1. upgrade home planet 2. buy 200 crystal on the black market 2. build a crystal extractor and the Capital Ship facility 3. build 2 scouts and send him on exploration 4
