Thanks very much, that template structure did help =)
Yea I get the same issue and maps that I manually add templates to via notepad either cause a crash on startup, or are playable but no templates show up at all. I forgot to say since 1.15/En1.1 the option PlanetOwnerIsRace is obsolete and is replaced by PlanetOwnerIsRaceNormalStart and PlanetOwnerIsRaceQuickStart. These 2 options are not aviable in the forge tool template editor.
Have you been a
Bug found in Galaxy Forge 3 : If you create a template within Galaxy Forge and choose PlanetOwnerIsRace the editor throws an error. To avoid this you have to edit your templates by hand. but if do this and want to change your map (eg. relocate some planets) the template is broken afterwards and instead of "PlanetOwnerIsRace" it show "invalid" in the template definition. In the Galaxy Forge 1.1 there was not this
Anyone mind helping me in my custom map creation? While my approaches have worked before, maps I have made after this latest patch (I use galaxyforge to make the physical structure and add templates with notepad...since forge3 is crazy buggy) cause sins to have runtime errors upon startup. (and yes the militias/pirates are supposed to be very strong) Any help at all would be appreciated, I just can't seem to find my flaw. TXT
btw to edit it you'll have to open it in notepad, as GalaxyForge3 is quite buggy
Hey all, Are there any veteran map makers with a bit of time to spare? I've dabbled in map making before, but my latest attempt keeps causing sins to crash on startup. I'm running Sins 1.15 on Vista32 w/o the xpac. The system structure was created using GalaxyForge3, but the templates and template assignment were done manually via notepad...GalaxyForge has always had an odd way with handling templates... I've
Well I'm on the same page as you guys, and I'm a mostly advent player. After about 2 hrs (by this time the large 200 ship throw-downs are taking place) and the framerate drops to very sloppy levels. Even when i'm not carrying the Iconus Guardians in my fleet and i engage a non-advent player, fps drops considerably. ------- AMD X2 6400+ Black Edition at 3.2ghz/core - Evga 8800GT - 4gigs Corsair DDR 800 - Vista Ultimate 32 bit
Thanks for the advice Monk. I do have a well scaled page file (already comparably sized to the ratio you provided). I've had a few people tell me that the issue might be related to the Advent's AoE (and I usually play Advent with at least 1 other race playing it as well), but I was also under the assumption that the devs addressed that issue in 1.05. Anyways I'll probably just stick to smaller games, maybe get some fraps readings for those framerate dips. <br/
So let's imagine we've got a single player sins game going, 5 races (all races present), 1 star, and about 100 planets. I usually have a smooth, extremely fluid game going for about the first two hours, but mid/endgame my frame rate sinks and the game becomes very slow and choppy, with zooming in/out losing a great degree of fluidity. Does anyone else experience this type of slowdown? It gets discouraging because I've got to play the game looking like a slide show so I usually never fin
Wow bailknight, thank you VERY MUCH for all your hard work. :D
