So does this mean a good counter-LRM spam strategy would be to start the game, buy 300 crystal, turn around and offer that crystal for 12 per and effectively delay tec for minutes because he cant get enough crystal?

And how long do these maps generally take to play a game? Same as VS AI?
I'm sure all n00bs would like to know what is the de_dust2 map for SoSE. Basically, what is the standard map? That way we can practice against Hard AI and get used to the maps, etc...
Another suggestion would be a way to freeze the empire tree scroll. Early in combat when ships are jumping in, the scroll moves around and its hard to select and target appropriately. When I pause, the empire tree kinda stops refreshing. I like the shift-click in research. The AI is probably ok for now. more info about other alliances/deals in the galaxy would be better.
HAHA I remember reading that one too. And I was kinda newb when I read it. Then I played and was like, WTF was that forums guy thinking?
my recommendation is to go on metacritic before you buy a game and look at negative user reviews. I guarantee someone has given this game a 5 because "It is the suxxx0r, no campaign, too slow, it's really 2-D, economy is ghey now!...." etc. THOSE are the valuable reviews even though the person is semi-literate. OR if 5 people write "bugs are killing me!" you know they shipped beta. I'd say you have to play a few times to really get into it. I enjoyed it the first time but I defi
Well, something else that's not exactly fully explained that I am willing to accept: an asteroid a few klicks across can wipe out life on earth as we know it, yet it takes a moon sized star destroyer a good while to knock out a planet... I can live with it... just more stuff thats not 100% believable. One solution: A random chance for Caps against small ships for a deathshot critical hit. Higher chance for smaller ships. Like a Kol catches a seeker in a fly by... odds are go
Ok devs, I love your game. I've played it way too much at the expense of eating and hygiene. Here's my idea, free of charge: Create "great leaders" that randomly get generated and attached to capital ships after great battles. After epic battles, come up with an algorithm where a great leader gets attached to a capital ship such that he adds cool little perks to the ship. Like "Darth Vader" (obviously you can't use him by name, but whatever) gets created for a Haly
yeah I dont know who thinks fighters/bombers suck, but fighters in hangars absolutley kick arse on defense. I especially love taking 10 fighters and from the empire tree, picking an enemy frigate and commanding it to die. Works fantastic. You just cant run around with 1-3. it's like running around with 1-3 LRMs.
I know the feeling. I just came to the message boards trying to figure out what's going on. With 3-5 AI players, they literally all gang up and the game ends in a stalemate to slow grind of death. It's also REALLY annoying that they immediately launch attacks when you move a fleet away from a system as if they have perfect intelligence of your fleet dispositions at all times. I also know the weakest link theory is not exactly true. I attacked an AI in a recent game and blasted his h
