People are working on minefields, but you can always make one yourself. The key things you'll need are the code from the Advent self-destruct ability and from the various capital ships that spawn missile/siege platforms. Giving a structure or ship the ability to spawn a platform that can self destruct.. set on autocast... gets you partway there.

Big issues here; if a fleet is too small, it cannot overcome defenses. If the enemy has 7 hangar defenses, a repair bay, and a few turrets, then you need a fairly good fleet to break through. Resolution: Make -anything- with weapons on it consume the same ship supply, and replace the existing static defenses with exceedingly slow-moving but still mobile versions. Missile Pods - 1 supply ships which are single-shot missile launchers. I'd say make it an immobilization effect that also significantly boosts shield regen and mildly boosts armor regen; the engineers shut down the engines for repair if the ship is critically damaged. You can do it manually, but it only does it automatically if the ship takes X damage. And no, you can't "Force" the ship to use this power. Well, I did a few 'suicidal' things. One ship launches a hypermissile spray as it suicides; hitting up to 5 targets for some damage. Then there's the 'minesweeper'; a frigate that has a low-damage AoE ability that does -just- enough damage to kill all the mines in a good area before it has to wait 60 seconds to use it again.

Imagine a "Missile Generator"; it has an autocast ability that, once every 30 seconds, summons a missile that has a 120 second duration and is a homing suicide bomb, with a antimatter cost of 0, or cheap enough it never runs out. How about if, instead of firing, the ship has a long-cooldown power that creates a ship(Named "Missile") that expires when the cooldown ends? The "Missile" goes through a warp point and then self-destructs with certain effects.

Is there any way to adjust the ratio that governs exiting to hyperspace/building construction so that structures can be made at entrances? I adjusted the entry area to 2%, making it so that you enter/exit hyperspace from a very tiny area at the end of each range, and wanted to make it so you could build structures right on this area; including both existing structures and a minefield structure I made. (uses Hangar Defense code with fighters that home in and self-destruct)

A bit more story; either in the form of a few custom scenarios with triggered events, or maybe even just putting it in the hands of some of the mod folks and letting them do it.
