How about this: put your money where your mouth us and give us a game design that has the features you apparently want but is still as easy to play and manage as Sins.
If I *had* the money to design a game, I certainly wouldn't do a Sins remake, I would do a NWN remake with an engine much more similiar to WOWs than Diablo's, and actually have all the skills represented in your character movements, such as run speed, or how high (or far) you jump when you press the
I'm sorry, but have you actually played the game. You can set the game up with a lot of stars (solar systems).
Uh, yes, yes I have. The most stars I have seen thus far is five, with an obscene number of planets in a non-spherical format, interspersed much like stars would be in a galaxy, and each planet orbited by a small, random number of planetoids, much like planets would be doing around stars.
As for the "asteroids" surrounding planets, those are called MOONS.Everyone keeps asking why there are no moons in the game, and then wondering why there are those rocks orbiting planets.>_>Earth is the only non-gas giant planet to have a spherical moon, so it's not abnormal at all to have irregular chunks of rock around your planet.
Then why are the clearly marked as "Asteriods" in the game?
I have noticed the same thing happen with my fleet upgrades and queueing captial ships. I upgraded about 3 tiers of captial fleet caps at once, and then purchased all of my capital ships, but none of them began building until all of my cap fleet upgrades were completed. I have also noticed an issue with logistical slots where it will not allow me to actually begin logistical buildings until the logistical upgrades are completed, whereas with my tatical slots, I can queue tac buildings as soo
I have to largely agree with the article. I don't believe piracy is a major contributor to diminishing PC game sales. I think mediocre games are a major contributor to diminishing PC game sales. Furthermore, I believe mediocre games are a major contributor to piracy. Most of the "pirates" I know pirate games because they feel like they have been "ripped off" too many times by game developers to spend more of their money on "crappy games." Being an ex-pirate myself, I used to hav
How about a real supply to deal with? Each game starts out with x amount of crystal/metal available at a base market rate with x amount of regeneration per second, and every time someone buys resources, it ups the cost due to the increase in demand over a limited supply? When cost goes up due to low supply, players can sell their excess (if they have any) to make a profit until demand decreases or supply increases. And if players manage to exceed the supply...well, tough, because prices are g
When I picked this game up, I was thinking it would be like Pax Imperia II, an unsung hero of the space domination genre. The only reason Pax Imperia II fell short of epic was because it was based off of a Macintosh original, and the sequel never had quite the same feature set as the first, and it never released for the Mac. But, that history lesson is not the point. I was imagining a Star, with several planets orbiting the star, and you were able to colonize the various planets,
Limz!: I like this guy.
These are the kind of people who hack their lag times on Starcraft so they appear to be all "Greens" but end up being on really crappy connections. Or the type who lure people into "4v4" games, with 4 friends on one team and 3 bots (or other friends) on the other team who all drop just under a minute so they don't get the loss, but you do. I really can't say what drives these people, in many cases they really do get a hard-on from ruining the game for everyone else, they think it's
Warcraft II? ...No one buys Warcraft II anymore. Starcraft? Yea, on occassion. WOW? Definitely. Warcraft II? Not so much. I don't see Warcraft II to be the game to beat as far as resellability goes. If you want truly epic games that have stood the test of time, take a good look at Starcraft, Half-life (Counter Strike) and Total Annhilation. You are also failing to note that the creators of a game make money from sales to the store, not sales to the public. That constant "d
Wow, Elites v/s Noobs. How did that arguement get started? Someone explain to me why the "elites" have more grammatical errors than the noobs.
After playing Sins of a Solar Empire for awhile, I noticed some UI issues that I think would be relatively easy to fix and I think would greatly enhance gameplay. I should mention that I tend to select ships by either using the Ctrl-# slots, or by clicking the fleet bars that appear to the left of the planets, depending on which set of ships I want to select. I am unaware of the proper name but when I refer to a "combat pin" I am referring to the fleet-graph that appears to
