You can scuttle any building, and you will receive your slots back.

Meh, compared to player ships on an individual basis, pirate ships are rather weak. Just don't let your fleet get within range of the gauss guns until the pirate fleet is down, and you should mow through them with a fleet 2\3 the pirates' size with rather negligible losses. I just turn off autoattack and jump my massive fleet in and keep them on the edge of the gravity well, manually send out my strikecraft. Once the pirate ships are in range (and note that they are rather spread out),
RTS to MMOrpg jump? unlikely in any time frame
Warcraft :P Seriously though, I would love to see another space MMO, especially one where one player could command more than one ship. I would also like to see some sort of "life" dynamic where inhabitants of stations\planets\moons or crew of ships had some sort of impact. EVE lays down a great and unique framework for a different style of MMO, but it lacks in a lot of areas.
EvE is awesome, it's

Oh my god dude, that was epic. Great read! I'm a work atm, but I'ma download the recordings as soon as I get home. How many days did it take you to do this? Also, what frigs\cruisers did you use primarily in your fleets? Illuminators and Crusaders or what?
Fighters are the main counter to LRMs. Of course any good LRM spammer has a support of 10 Flak frigates to counter your fighters, which are enough to deal with up to 20 squads of fighters(resource-heavy it seems), at least long enough to pwn you. IMHO get some LRMs of your own. Advent are at a severe disadvantage, as their Illuminator LRM doesnt have the same range, most people don't like them. Advent are pretty much stuck staying defensive for early game as I see it, though I could be

I did a 10 player FFA last night. Was Online tho. I got LRM swarmed an hour in, after another 45 mins of pestering my attacker with my scuttled resources, I finally died (I was advent). Though this thread's apparently about single player, I figured I'd post my shiznit. Shoulda had more fighters Q.Q lol
Also, fraudulous is not a proper word (though people seem to use it). You are looking for fraudulent.
Lol asking customer to try and be civil, especially when their money is involved. What are you insane? Calm, informative descriptions of problems never get your point across, it's all about YELLING KICKING SCREAMING WHINING! I work at Dell Tech Support :D
I dont think you should get missions so early personally. I have found that the first two missions are generally impossible, and immediately put your AI teammates against you. Now I know you can get a cease fire and work from there and whatnot, but you should not be penalized for something that's impossible. Also a small warning or reminder that you have a mission wouldn't hurt, I can be forgetful :P
Either way, I still think LRMs armor is too thick... perhaps an HP nerf would be in scope. As it stands now, too much durability on a ship with so much firepower and range.
hmm what if we just make LRMs have very light armor? then flaks would be useful against something other than fighters
Fantastic! I think a community TS is an outstanding idea! I realize it's 1pm PST so no one's home yet, but come peak times there better be some peeps on here! :D
Well have faith in the devs, it takes a while to balance these things. Anyway, I agree wholeheartedly with one of the following as posted by WileyCoyote. We need either: 1) a more effective counter to LRM's (since flak dont have the firing arcs to appropriately deal with them). Raising flak damage vs Light wouldnt work since bombers are also classified as light. Maybe their should be a race specific tech uprade for flaks (like what we have for light frigates etc). Could be something tha
