...and feature giant planetary defense structures. That's all that is known.

I would have more realistic maps in terms of planet layout, larger gravity wells, moons, etc.
BTS Galactica BTS Pegasus BTS Valkyrie BTS Atlantia
There was a situation where there were stacked teams and I was on the worse team, so I politely asked someone from the better team to switch over and the host kicked me. =/ Some folks on ICO are not very kind.
The only real tactic is to avoid teching up in the civilian tree and just got for the assailants and enforcers early game to have a larger military to defend yourself and then worry about your economy.
I dunno...I tend to build the Evacuator first.
Lol...I hope he isn't talking about me. I just played in a team game yesterday where I tried to build up my economy and didn't help my teammates militarily, and they lost a couple battles...so they quit the game... >__<
Is it just me or are Advent even worse now in v1.04? Illuminators may be somewhat viable now, but they are still tier 3 on the tech tree and can't be used to rush the opponent. Defense vessels are no longer an effective LRM counter, giving the Advent little to no options early game since Disciples are still horrendous. Furthermore, it seems the Advent is worse late game as well with Drone Hosts receiving an absurd nerf. Advent is definetly my favorite race in Sins so far, but
I like the gritty look of the TEC, it's more realistic.
I think the appeal of the campaign is that it's a vehicle for providing more information about the lore of the game... I imagine starbases will be pretty far down the tech tree and very expensive. I wouldn't want them to be common, rather something where you attack an enemy planet and then go, "Oh ****, they have a starbase". I want these things to be able to fend off fleets of 20+ ships. Anything more might be a little OP.
...according to this source... http://pc.ign.com/articles/864/864651p1.html ...there will be massive planetary defense structures! =D Very glad to hear that, I felt that was something that was missing from Sins. The article also talks briefly about the campaign mode and how they intend to explore the backstory of the Vasari or possibly the Advent.
Expansion of 4X/RTS Features - I'd like more diplomacy options, interesting artifacts, etc. In fact, I think there is a lot of potential for artifacts. Being able to buy and sell them would be interesting. As for RTS features, I would like a little more skill based combat but that might be too much to add in an expansion, maybe a patch or a sequel. New Race/Units - I guess the mystery Vasari-related race would be easy enough to add...but that seems kind of generic. As for units, I
If it took two weeks to beat the AI on unfair, then I'd say there's a strong argument to leave it as is. -HM
That makes no sense. Shouldn't a verteran player be able to face off against AI in 1v1 and still be challenged? -- I'm not sure about specific improvements because I know nothing about AI or game design. I just found it surprising that the AI continued to use light frigates when I was beating him with LRMs. Perhaps program it to try
First of all, I'd like to start out by saying that I think we need an AI even stronger than unfair. The AI will never be able to comprehend the current metagame and therefore, can never really beat the best players. But after two weeks of playing and a little forum reading I was able to beat an Unfair AI on a small 1v1 map with an Embargo and LRM rush. The game was able to outproduce me, but it built all siege and light frigates, so I naturally crushed him. I think the hardest AI should be able
The review seemed largely accurate to me but it makes the mistake of overlooking the fact that Sins is largely uncharted territory (RT4X) and therefore, taking creative liberties and cutting off features is to be expected. It actually did bring down the total metacritic score, unfortunately, from an 89 to an 88.
Yeah...I am lol. But its just a shortcut, Sins isn't available over Steam. That's really odd that its causing that problem. Well, I'm re-installing the game right now. I'll see if using the normal button works.
So I bought the game last night and popped it open for a few minutes, then closed it and installed the patch. When I re-opened the game, the text was gone and so...I couldn't play. I blindly pressed some buttons and opened up the tutorial, but still...there was no text in game. So I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it and it worked fine. I had some problems installing it so I thought the issue was related to that, I was wrong. I re-installed the patch this morning and the text issue re-appeared
I just bought this game yesterday and played one full three hour game against as TEC with normal AI (and got my ass handed to me). I imagine this will come naturally over time, but I'm not exactly sure how to spend my resources properly. More specifically how aggresively should I build units and what is considered a good fleet size? 10, 15, 20, 25 ships? Should I always have a surplus of money/metal/crystals on hand in case I need to build up an army rapidly, and if so, how much? I'm asking thes
