I would like to see a feature like how Supreme Commander does it: have an overall map on the secondary screen that you can zoom in and direct forces around and attacks just as you do on the primary... but all the main controls are on the primary screen. This is great if you are playing a bigger game like 2v2v2 or 3v3 where you may have 2-3 battles going on in different star systems.

agreed.... caps are very weak later in the game... for smaller battles they are fine but when you have 20+ enemy ships it just becomes a waste of resources to continuously try to rebuild them and bring new ones into battle. Earlier today, I had 4 caps (all Kols) and 40+ regular battle ships and an enemy (normal AI) with 1 cap and around 50-60 ships came in and destroyed my fleet because they concentrated on the caps first and then took the rest of the fleet out... I had destroyed their lvl 4
Quoting screwballl, reply 51.1 (or 1.095) is not showing for me on Impulse at all... they must have removed it... maybe they will be releasing it officially as 1.1 here in the next day or two??? Did you check "Show pre-release" in the blue orb menu?
nope, this was information I was not aware of since it was not listed as an actual menu, just looked like an icon to me... I got that checked now
I go with a colony capital first.
same here, I always get the Cap ship with Colonize before any others. The mini colonizing ship is entirely to slow for planet colonization so I only use them for taking over rogue metal/crystal mines
I still get "Upload has not initialized properly. Flash v9.0.28 or greater is required."
Even with all this, I still get the exact same message. I have flash 9.0.142 installed which is the latest version on the Adobe website. I get this same message on 2 different systems, in IE7 and FF3, very few addons to each (none mentioned here previously), both are US English XP SP3 (I am in the US, what else wo
bah stupid edit not working... I can go up against 6 hard AI players and be able to keep up with them but when I go online playing the exact same way they are sitting there with some sort of massive hack with extra resources...
I rarely play online anymore because it seems most of the players out there have some sort of super fast building capacity hack... I am sitting here waiting on resources just to build a few ships, one or two buildings and they have 4-5 times the fleet and 4-5 planets to my 1 within 15-20 minutes. It is like this almost every single online game I have been a part of.
Nope no edit available here....
I have been having this same issue in IE7 and Firefox3 on 2 different systems, 2 different sets of Firefox plugins. Some posts it will let me edit and some will not.... very strange. Always within 10 minutes.
The thing they built into the AI is they would rather retreat back to a safer system and keep most of its fleet at some little asteroid then have the entire solar system lost... versus if you chase them, you spend less time going after the planetary objects and more time chasing them... I found if you start going after their planets with the capital ships, they tend to hang out one or two jumps away... just nail the planets one by one and you will slowly whittle away their fleet... &n
I enjoyed SSBM on the gamecube but it got old after awhile as most games do... so here I am back at my PC playing the game I have since it was released... SOSE
Question... how can we upload avatars and pictures under the My Account/Images section? Well I know how, BUT the problem is that it says "Upload has not initialized properly. Flash v9.0.28 or greater is required." yet the latest version of flash available on the Adobe website is 9.0.124.... I know there is a beta version 10 for IE but some of us use Linux or only Firefox for the websurfing (as a PC tech and working for an ISP, I have seen what using IE only can do to a computer).
I suspect it will top out around 800,000 then drop off at its current pricing... once it drops to around $20-25 then they may get over 1 million but slowly... EA knows how to sell crap to a cow ranch... only us smart ones know that it has DRM all over with any of their games... which is why I refuse to pruchase ANY game from EA... last game of theirs I got was SimCity4 back in 2004
thank you... I also tried updating my registration via Impulse and it gives me a "email address not valid" if I try to change it there... thanks for the help guys
You can change password or username but not the email...
I tried there, it is not a changable option... shows username, and user email but no option to change it... everything else is like real name, address and so on but no way to change current email address.
I checked the FAQs, I looked for a "Contact us" link, I looked through the forums and nowhere does it give me an answer so I am posting here.... How do I change my account/contact email? The address currently listed is no longer valid and would like to update it. Thanks!
This is why I refuse to buy anything from EA... ANYTHING... last game I bought of theirs was SimCity4
I myself never saw any performance issues until patch 1.4... before that with the stock game and previous patches, the game ran smooth as can be... The 3 same items that we have in common: I have XP Pro SP2, an ATI video card and a SB sound card... in your case I would say upgrade the video card as everything else has enough power to run this game decently
I had very good performance with my game, it ran awesome and smooth... until the last update... now it take 4-5 minutes to actually get to the first menu, and that is with hitting Esc to skip the opening movies... since I don't really play online, i may just go back to the 1.2 or 1.3 update and say screw it until 1.5... this is something in the game itself as I am a computer tech by trade and this system is clean and stable as a whistle. E6600 @ 2.4GHz, under load never goes over 40ºC 2G
Unfortunately, it seems that I'm the only user who has trouble with the patch! I tried the update via SDC: It stopped at " loading file list"...nothing happend for hours...Ok, tried to update via the 16.5 MB archive from this site: Installation was ok but now the games dumps when loading a saved game..*X%§$D%§$%....Now I restored the 1.03 version.Does anybody has similar problems with the update? Thanks in advance for any helpful comments...--Stormhandler
Read the informat
