TA is still one of my favorite games. I did nothing but play it multiplayer for the longest time. In fact, when I finally went back to play the single-player campaign, I thought it kind of tame. It's on my system right now; my 6-year old was playing it the other day (he does best with all metal maps). The only thing I miss is the music. The patch to get it to run under XP does away with the CD, so no music. Although, I did rip the CD for my iPod.

I like SE:V but I feel like I can't get an overall picture as quickly. It's probably more of a case of just spending more time with it. I do like research in SE:V, it's more "realistic
Actually, that's not a bad idea. Adding victory conditions would mean that not every MP game is as open-ended. Some things that show up in other 4X game as win conditions: -Galactic Conquest. -Specific score. -Highest score after a specified amount of turns/time. -Exceeding the next best score in x,y, and/or z by a certain percentage. -First to research a specified number of techs. -Keeping the galaxy at peace for a specified number of years. -Victo
