Shift right click and just chain orders for attacking. I usually just shift right click all of the ship I want them to kill on the empire tree. May be a better way but that works ok for me.

Hey, I really want to be able to look at tech trees and ship specs on line or something so I can get a better grasp on each races techs and ships. I can't find one, anyone know of a site for that?
