I am also supporting it!
Anguille
Only if the game is not as boring as GalCiv 2....
Quoting Anguille, reply 56 Thanks for telling us now. I want a refund because i do not use steam. I also dislike Steam, but I have confirmed with the Beta that once you have activated the game and set Steam to off-line, you can still LAN it. Now to give some Beta feedback...
Well, i still feel betrayed and cheated. Not going to buy anything from Stardock anymore. Too bad.
Quoting GhostBirdofPrey, reply 30 Also what's up with using steam rather than Impulse? Rebellion is using Steamworks.
Thanks for telling us now. I want a refund because i do not use steam.
I ended up trying Armada 2526. Waste of money. Was bored very quickly. Much too simple.
with or without Supernova?
Thanks. The price tag of DW is still making me hesitate, while Armada is not. After reading things about Armada elsewhere, however, I am not sure I understand what makes it better or different than other games already out there, such as Space Empires V. Can someone, especially one who really likes it, tell me briefly why Armada + Supernova > SEV? Thanks much!
For many player SEV isn't running well on Windows 7.
Both games are great (both need their addons). Armada 2526 with Supernova is a classic 4x (turn-based) in the line with MOO 1 & 2. It's my favorite. The basic game wasn't very sexy and many have kept that in their head but the game has made a huge progression... Distant Worlds with the forthcoming second addon is the deepest 4x game in the market...it's just superb. The game is real-time so needs more concentration. I have both and recommend both.
Quoting Anguille, reply 39 I guess you're going to have a deal with Kalypso again for Europe Kalypso REALLY needs to release the patches that we get here in the states for Sins. Thousands of European Sins gamers who buy through Kalypso don't have access to the latest patches. This likely can SEVERELY hurt the online multiplayer community.
I am not sure
I guess you're going to have a deal with Kalypso again for Europe (doesn't really matter for me as i have already preordered)
Quoting Anguille, reply 29 What is it you don't like from Impulse? Its owned by Gamestop now.
I know but frankly, i don't see the problem as long as they don't change too much to the Impulse system. I would also have prefered to see Stardock keep control over Impulse but i haven't seen much change since then yet. It is still much better than Steam or the EA crap.<
I am thoroughly looking forward to this expansion. Though I would prefer it to be released on a disc, I can understand reasons for it being digital-only. I just dislike Impulse and would prefer not to go through it.
You can buy it directly from Stardock. What is it you don't like from Impulse?
The time is good now for a good trailer...especially with all these disappointed SotSII players around (i am sure that SotSII will be a good game but it will take some more months).
There's also Haegemonia ...you can find it from GOG.
You should maybe keep your eye open for the upcoming game Gemini Wars . http://geminiwars.camel101.com/ An older and great game is Conquest: frontier Wars ...if you can find it.
Well thats wrong There is a large Fanbase of RTS and 4X Player in Germany. MoO2 was one of the biggest hits here But due to the Press here in Germany SoaSE is very unknown at the moment. But so
It's very often slow...
I remember very well as i was one of the first to discover the game...i actually liked it a lot already back then...
While i haven't played Sins at all, i feel that it's very similar to another RTS game that i know very well: Knights of Honor. KoH does not have a story but it's a 4x game in Real Time. The game is still played by many and does not suffer from not having a campaign. I don't believe that Sins will suffer from that either...(backstory for the races is very important though).
As Nova said, the X1600 probably won't have the horsepower to run the final game with Highest textures and high-res. Still, it should do pretty well at Medium or even decent with High textures at 1280x1024. A 1.7GHz CPU should do alright (may slow down late-game), but it'll depend on what the rest of the system's specs are. Thanks everyone for your comments. Will check the exact specifications tonights. I do have 512 Ram but a
I've got only 1.7 Ghz CPU... Will it run?
I am still an active MOO3 player and am looking forward to play Sins. I just hope there's more than combat in the game...i want the diplomacy to mean something. I wish Sins is going to be Knights of Honor in space. To comment on EBITAD's statement on the end game, i'd say it's been one of the great weaknesses in most empire building games. Some solutions (Senate victory in MOO1, Conquest of 2/3 of the Universe in BotF, the various victory conditions in GalCiv...) have been very implemen
Looks great...can't wait to see the clock running
I've got a computer with 1,7 GHZ and it must run on that...otherwise
Ironclads interviews are all the same.Copy and paste job. It's because we read them all...those interviews are for people who haven't heard of Sins yet...Still, sometimes there's a couple of new things...
