2 player by direct link - no internet in Sins Multiplayer Sins Forums

Hello, I would like to play Sins of a solar empire with a friend that has no internet connection. I was planning on installing 2 purchased copies of Sins on 2 laptops at my home (that has internet, to download the game and patches), bring them to his place, and link the two laptops with an ethernet cable. Is it possible ? If yes would anyone be so kind as to provide a procedure ? Thanks in advance Bongokid
