If its a long game vs the comp AI, my bet is its due to the insane amounts of mines.... just a guess. Playing vs Advent or Vasari AI and the game goes on for few hours, its a crash fest, especially when i sent in scouts and could see 2 or 3 planets loaded with mines / fighters / bombers. Vs Tec AI its much better as they do not seem to spam every planet with 1000 mines - prob due to cost.

TEC Defensive strategy:(assuming max fleet capacity and 1 choke pnt as described by op) - 4 Kol's, 4 Marza's, 2 Akkan's, 6 Dunov's. Dunov's in thier own separate fleet in the rear. - Surround them with repair bays, most enemy attacks will go for these first... - Rest of fleet is approx 10-20 Kodiaks(cannon fodder / anti carrier), 10-20 carriers(all fighters), 30ish anti fighter frig, 40ish LRMs(killing carriers). I prefer the massive capital ship fleet and

Need to just remove mines altogether, that solves a multitude of issues including massive lag / memory leak and micro managing mine removal in a conquered system... The comp AI builds so many mines its stupid, as TEC assaulting a hard aggressive Vasari AI, the final mop up of the enemy is taking hours, my last attack w/ a full 16 capital ships - would not display my ships unless i was zoomed almost all the way in - this was due to 10 billion mines in the system - REMOVE MINES !!

Vasari star base should NOT be able to phase jump... that is just totally overpowered seeing as thier super cannon opens up a phase jump = 19k hp death star phase jumping into the rear of the front lines, dont think so.... they can already shoot a super cannon and phase jump a nasty fleet into your rear areas WITH a star base ship - and unless you have a decent size force nearby, that star base will be fully upgraded with a support fleet by the time you are able to rally the forces. Yep, mines suck, remove them. Star bases are great idea and well done. If you dont kill the comp AI in the first hour of the game, its almost guarenteed to crash / lag out due to 10million mines. I absolutely refuse to play vs the Advent comp AI - those friggen homing mines are a total joke - both defensively and offensively. Its bad enough the AI makes 100 carriers with 200 fighter/bomber spam, now they also spam 10billion mines. Can only really play vs the

Guess you havent tried fighting a hard/unfair AI Advent player.... They build like 40 Host ships that invade you and launch 2 million homing mines that wipe out everything - and i mean everything. Sure, once the carriers are dead you can kill the mines, taking a lot of work, but that is no easy task. Also invading the same type Advent AI is silly hard due to the amount of homing mines launched, i lost a full fleet + 19k starbase doing so, either i totally suck or that is

Love the Star Bases and should be expanded on, adding more range - via research, or make all of them mobile, something along those lines. Costs seem right on as they arent cheap to upgrade. Mines need a limit or removed all together, the AI builds insane amounts of them, to the point of crashing the game.

Star Bases are killer ! Mines are not.... imo they need to be removed all together, they add serious amounts of lag the longer the match goes on and dont really add anything to the fun factor, they are more frustrating. Should focus on Star Bases and maybe even expand that Defensive research tree. Make all Star Bases mobile or increase the firing range of the non-mobile bases, add more options to them, we need more options for static defense instead of mines.

I'v noticed similar behavior from Kol Battleship which has no planet abilities except bombarding it... no matter how many times i clicked stop, with Hold Position, they continued into the mine field !?!?! Does this have something to do with the Homing Mines ??? I had roughly 30 scouts near my fleet of capital ships but could not stop them from impaling themselves on the mines... Mines add serious amounts of lag, need some tweaking.... only so many, an effective mine swee
