Reply to Audio issues in Technical Sins Forums

Okay, it turns out Creative released drivers on the 18th of this month that I didn't know about. Those fixed my crackling problem. Man, talk about having to keep things updated :D edit: after playing for a bit, I'm not suer if it's fixed. It's fine until a battle breaks out. Whenever my ships fire, or when their attack hits an enemy ship, or something, there's the same popping noise. I don't know if that's supposed to happen or if it's a bug but either way it's annoying.

This happens to me too. I have not uninstalled and reinstalled my audio drivers and I don't really want to if the problem's going to come back when I restart. I have a Creative X-Fi with updated drivers and I use headphones. It only makes a cracking noise when audio is playing, I think; if I turn the music down to zero it seems like it's gone, but when I exit the menu and go back to the game the crackling is back.
