I suggest you move to America then. We have everything here.
Except a growing economy, intelligent population, and good mangos. I'm an Indian American, Indian mangos are apparently heaven. - PR-0927

But don't you guys remember the lore provided - the one ship that returned from the "unknown enemy's wrath" from that Vasari fleet was filled with Vasari crew - who had all gone insane - some kind of hive virus. - PR-0927
Umm, look around. Gamespot, FileFront, FilePlanet. It's rather available. - PR-0927

You're not helping your case CommanderAdama. How the hell does that make them "cynical about humanity in general?" If anything, you're detracting from people going online. And for me, I would go online, but prefer LAN with my friends. Also, I don't think I'm good enough for the crazy awesome online-RTS players. And all the other reasons listed above are good enough to support SP. - PR-0927
LOL, yes, and the mobile variant is what I was talking about (8600M GT). I'm amazed and grateful that Stardock could create such a game that looks SUPERB, yet runs on less-powerful hardware. My resolution is set to 1680 x 1050, my full resolution. Anti-aliasing is set to 2x (never tried above that, perhaps it can do 4x). - PR-0927
So, are there any "hidden" higher settings, that one might enable by text file editing or something, as one can do with Far Cry? Like "ultra high" settings. Running a Dell Vostro 1500, Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, resolution of 1680 x 1050, 2 GB RAM (667 MHz), 120 GB HD (5400 RPM), and an nVidia 8600M GT (256 MB DDR2 RAM). Not even close to spectacular specifications, but I can run SoaSE on the highest settings without getting lag. And, I want more. :P It can run CoD4 (demo any
What's so confusing? I really don't understand your problem. You bought the game, and you installed it. That's about it. Just run it (directly from the .exe file) or from the Start Menu (or from the Games Explorer if you have Vista). It should be installed in the default "C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire" directory. By the way, caps don't help in getting someone to help you. And don't forget to patch it - run the download overnight or something (since you
I believe an expansion is in the works. - PR-0927
Why did you needlessly bump a thread from 1.5 months ago? - PR-0927
I'm 18. I'm surprised about some of the ages - I had assumed most were around my age. - PR-0927
DrathKar speaks well, although I must admit I believe there is something that determines a universal set of morals (education/knowledge!). Also, maheshjr2004, just because they are religious doesn't make them good. IMO, the religious fanatics on this planet are the worst kind of people around. - PR-0927
No Crysis? You'd think that'd be at the top of the list... - PR-0927
I was under the impression that 1.1 was to change the interface a bit or something of the sort, and offer something more with diplomacy/research/trade. Also, the addition of higher graphics settings is well known. - PR-0927
Perhaps research? - PR-0927
Shut up please, all of you. I actually thought this thread was being posted in because of 1.1 preview material. Guess I was wrong. - PR-0927
I'm sorry, but if you haven't even played the game, any word about it has absolutely no validity at all. - PR-0927
Actually you can compare it to two cards in SLI because that is what the 9800GX2 is, basically two PCB boards glued together and running in SLI.
Yeah, but it isn't so black-and-white. It is two cards in one, but it's also just one card. It's a dual-core card, rather than dual GPUs. Maybe we can call it 1.5 cards? LOL. I mean think about it - as massive as the 9800 GX2 is, two 8800s put together are probably more massive - it isn't too easy to get eq
PR: 8800GTS 512MB in SLI was almost able to match the 9800GX2, however with improved drivers now the 9800GX2 can't be touched by those in SLI.
I see. What about with the beta drivers nVidia keeps rolling out for the 9 series cards? I believe some of them have shown big performance increases? Then again, IMO, you shouldn't be comparing a 9800 GX2 to two cards, as it is one GPU, regardless of if it is a "dual-core" GPU (which is different from two GPUs). <
I don't. SLI may be inefficient (you're not getting the full performance benefit you would with another card in optimal situation), somewhere around 30%, but it's much better than blowing $350+ on a 9800GTX with little to no performance benefit over a 8800GT/GTS. Two 9600GTs in SLI will blow that away, and I saw them on NewEgg for $130 each the other day.If you're going high-end, I don't see a problem with SLI, esp. with 9600GTs or 8800GTs. Otherwise, it's not worth buying that sort of mo
Can we please call it Crysis, not Crisis, LOL. Sorry, that was bothering me. :P For $1400 that's not bad at all - except the SLI choice. I agree with Naoza in what he just said about SLI - it really isn't worth the money. Oh, you said something about 64-bit OS? I think I might have read somewhere that you can upgrade (trade-in) your 32-bit for a 64-bit OS for like around $10 (using your serial on the Windows CD). I might be wrong, but no harm looking into it if you're
NVIDIA has stated that they will skip all of DX10 and wait for DX11, so it is highly unlikely DX10.1 will be included. Although the performance boost AMD cards had with Assassin's Creed may end up changing their minds, however I find that to be bad PR, as they might as well.
Yeah, I mean, all I know is the rumor. I find it funny that nVidia reacts so "paranoidly" to any ATI developments, given that it basically squashes ATI products at almost every level. But, I gues
PR: The 9800GX2 is crap, no beans about it (SLI is inefficient, sure, but slamming together two GPUs in one card and getting even less performance is worse!). Having "the best" for the sake of "the best" is a status symbol, not an efficiency marker, as you seem to realize. Your system would be much well suited by a E8[4/5]00 and dual 8800GTS 512s..but it's your call.I spent $1700 a year ago for dual 19"s, a 8800GTS rig with a E6400, 650i motherboard, 2GB of DDR800, 80GB and 500GB HDD, and
Dude, nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS isn't too great. It isn't even the best of the 8800 line, and currently 9800 GX2 is king. I believe by the end of summer or so, we will be having the successor to the 9800 GX2 (using some GT200 codename, rumored to be called the 9900 GTX or something of the sort). The 4 GB RAM is nice, but isn't used completely (by like 800 MB or so) with a 32-bit system. And there is no way you are getting Crysis settings on EVERYTHING at maximum to be running at
Just a question - would using Pelicans as trade ships work, perhaps? They are transport ships, so... - PR-0927
