OK i got it working now. basicly if you want a ship to have levels it has to be built at the cap ship facility or the game yells at you " BAD MODDER..NO!" thats ok though i had kinda planned for that but that kind of rigidity in a strategy game these says....EPIC FAIL DEV's....EPIC FAIL. yeah thats pretty much what i did however the AI isnt liking the way i did it so im retooling its a lot of conversion work. as it is i have the levels in and working and its not a cap ship file at all but i dont see them gaining expierence. there is a place within the code for the frigates to lvl but i might need some dev feedback on it so look for it later

Well i want the mod to be able to use other campains as well so i will include instructions on how to load them in. anyways an update: ok close to releasing the demo probably monda or tuesday it will have the first 3 missions as well as showing off the legion. the other new factions will be present but unmoded so no real differnce. the largest differnce you will notice is with this mod ALL SHIPS INCLUDING FRIGATES WILL GAIN EXPIERENCE AND LEVEL. only thing that could stop that is some

ok so the final outline for the story is nearly done. i ended up adding a 3rd faction and though it will be playable its probably not desirable its mostly for story purposes. i should be releasing a demo for the mod sometime in the next week with probably the first 3 missions ready to go so i can get feedback on the setup and answer questions / fix problems. here are the new factions and a short discription The Legion - an elite fleet grouping made up of the best the TEC has to offer.

well right now it has 5 acts about 10 missions per act but keep in mind its not really 50. i cant do scripts so every time i want to tell another portion of the story i have to end a mission and start a new so i can put out storyline. basicly what i have done you will get a mission intro before each mission launches

Ok well still working on the whole story outline but it is shaping up to be about 50 missions long. some missions are pretty open ended like skirmish others will be more straitfoward and much shorter. not sure if anyone is reading this or not but i would like some feedback any idea would be welcome

ok well ive decided to create a campaign mod with actual missions. Now since i cant really script due to the coding of the game i have come up with a way to launch missions using a modification of saved games and another modification of the user interface. I am able to do it on my own but i think it would be much better if i had some help. mostly what im needing at the moment is someone to create custom planets and some research items. later ill probably need ships and research. the stor

yeah well see thats actualy what im doing is making a campaign mod with a good storyline. as is i can jerryrig some stuff using ingame req's but the biggest holdup is i want to eliminate player choice of race so it just launches

ok im trying to figure out a way to do some event scripting and not having much luck. i know alot of it is hard coded but the tutorials have scripts made out to the extent i need. all im looking to do is launch a specific map show some text up and go, bypassing the race selection screen, i have where it says the text for tutorials in the string folder but i cant find where they are called up. my best guess is they are the dxscript files in app data but i cant open them up to be readable

well i was with you till this point. i have version 1.12 and am having the same problem. im trying to convert binary to text. i have tried using convert data and i get that error i tried using convertdata /convertxsi gui and it just flashes but does nothing. the agravation is rising i can mod the game if i have test files i can write scripts easily and yet i cant get this one thing to work
