I can't get distant stars to work. I downloaded the 1.16 version and it just crashes on startup. Any ideas?

I tried Star Wars Requiem, and it still needs some work for Rebellion (although it is downright awesome for Diplomacy). I can't get Distant Stars to work. Any other ones that anyone recommends. Running latest patch 1.1

I have everything unpinned. What does it mean to break up visual treaties? I have done everything except overclock as I don't know how to do that. PS: I am on a dell xps 15 laptop.

I am playing Sins Diplomacy with the latest update. I find that no matter what I do, the game slows down to a level of unplayability after a while. My frame rate drops to 10-15 and I've tried Turbo Utilities 2012, dropped all the details to low, and it has no effect. I'm on a dual core i7 with 6 GB of ram and 2GB of video ram. What can I possibly do here?
