So, what the AI was doing behind the scenes was upgrading to a capital. So [U]THAT[/U] caused his income to magically go positive! I'm relieved, because I can do the same. I did notice that my allegiance was 25%. I thought that was a dumb way to start a scenario - what nascent starfaring race WON'T regard its home planet as its capital??? I did OK on those 14-planet random map exercises. But the 1-on-1's like Gaian Crescent are whacking me. I can't get enough done to be self-sustaining. My credits are drained, even if I sell resources. I try to get tax revenue up with planet upgrades. As my population builds, I glide down from -2.2 creds/sec to more like -0.5. I can't seem to get in positive territory. Then I watch a recording of my game and scope out the AI opponent. He's tracking my -2.2
